For the record, I'd like to start out by saying that all you idiots who are ganging up on Kotoko on her apparent masochist love she holds for Irie when you haven't even finished the series. All you morons should finish before judging. I can understand you disliking the series but for god's sake if you're going to bash a show at least watch it all the way through. And to all you Kotoko haters out here, she realized: "YOU CANT HELP WHO YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH" which you guys seem to mistake for masochism. And now to our level-headed anime lovers. I am a person who watches anime with no expectations for the start of the show because I want to see what the anime is trying to do. The mark of a good anime in my opinion is not necessarily a happy ending, or even a good romance; a great anime in my opinion makes you think like the characters and understand them. Itazura na Kiss has one of the most realistic takes on romance I've seen since Cross Games. Kotoko is the lovable but dumb, not ugly but not a stud main girl lead who always tries her hardest. Pretty common storyline, but like a previous review stated, "It's not the end result but the journey," this phrase suits this anime perfectly. Irie is the typical cold-hearted (sometimes vilified) OOD (object of desire) of Kotoko. Its rare to see cold rejection turn into true love *cough cough* but InK really allows Kotoko and Irie's relationship develop into something truly amazing. To be honest while watching this show they were the perfect couple for this reasoning. Irie is amazing at everything but is cold and disinterested while Kotoko isnt particularly great at anything except her enthusiasm to help others and her determination. They're a perfect match, he's the talent and she's the inspiration and drive. Before you write this show off, give it a chance. Oh and on a personal note the person who loved keita should suck it i hated him lol xD
