As all great movies do this one relies on the basic humanity of the characters to push the story forward. The story comes together naturally as a simple birthday weekend turns into a battle to save the world from an out of control AI that is taking over the world's internet. The simple strength of an old woman and her family shows you the best of what it means to be human, a young woman grows as tragedy both personal and worldly come to a head finding an inner strength she didn't know she had, and a young man comes into his own to fight against a threat to his new family. All these story lines are held together with humor and the bonds of family. Whether its the slice of life setting, the science fiction plot, or the romance of young love this movie is excellent in every way. A must see.
