This is my first review. So here goes....

I started watching this anime with very high expectations. Came across it in mal when I was checking the ratings of Psycho Pass and the page said Shinsekai Yori was similar to it. It is not entirely wrong, but the worlds portrayed are completely different.

This is an anime which considers what would've happened to human beings if some were born with special powers and some weren't. That's the basic premise of the story. What makes the anime awesome is the way the author has built the world around this fact and told the story based on the premise. Living in a world where classification has become its very basis, things portrayed in this anime are very much in sync with whats happening. It raises a lot of questions about nature of human beings and the system that is in place in the world in which they live.

Having said all that I'm giving the story 8 out of 10 as the sory telling could've been much better. Lot of things happen for which an explanation is conveniently overlooked. If they had done that, it would've been one of the best in the list of science-fiction anime set in a dystopian world.

The art and music are certainly praiseworthy as they never feel out of place.

Overall I had fun watching this.
