Hello All!

For today I will be doing a 1-minute review on the highly acclaimed psychological thriller namely - Mirai Nikki (The Future Diary). Let's Go!

STORY : 6
This 26-episode ride starts off with a bang from the very first episode. As this is a thriller it should be standard-fare to expect twists every now and again so you will need to pay close attention to the plot, but not that it becomes an emotional burden at any stage. However, there are various plot holes and they are impossible to miss as your mind is always in 5th gear looking for that extra piece of info.

ART : 7
The art-style is expected to match that of the latest anime and it does. It neither disappoints or exceeds in that aspect. There are both censored and uncensored versions available so be sure to pick up which one you prefer. Selected scenes can be gory, but not excessive as compared to some horror titles.

SOUND : 7
While most of the soundtrack doesn't stand out, some parts do. The opening track also deserves a special mention as it is just mesmerizing. The voice acting is done fairly well. The English dub is an utter mess.

CHARACTERS : 7
Most of the characters are somewhat enjoyable and development is done well in terms of screen-time. One character deserves a special mention - Yuno Gasai (voiced by Tomosa Murata) - which is truly exceptional and will get my vote as one of the best lead female roles in an anime series.

ENJOYMENT : 8
I've had very few dull moments in between episodes and for the most part was a very fun series to watch.

OVERALL : 7
Because of its obvious plot holes it subtracts to what could have been a great anime and therefor I won't recommend it for analytical viewers. As for anyone else who enjoys the genre, I recommend Mirai Nikki.
