Kuroshitsuji was a wonderful anime, laced with bitter revenge and heart ache. It contains the most complex and mysterious characters you will ever come across, and with a beautiful musical soundtrack, this will not disappoint. Even though the characters were victorian, they were easy to understand but not at all modern, which proved the effort put into this anime was emmense.

*spoilers*

Story: 10-

Ciel Phantomhive, 12 year old earl, is possibly one of the strangest and strongest characters you will ever come across. His adventures are far from heroic, and the storyline of Kuroshitsuji had so many twists that I was honestly surprised at times. From hypocritical angels obssessed with "purity", to the ghosts of the princes of the tower and Grelle the grim reaper, there wasn't a moment in this story that didn't leave me happy, sad, or intruiged. The action was well balanced, the peaceful moments not boring at all, and the upsetting scenes timed perfectly. If your looking for twists, secrets, lies and betrayal, this anime is definitely for you.

Sound: 9-

I wasn't fond of the opening theme at first, but it grew on me. There were many scenes and episodes in the anime that contained beautiful music, and it was honestly surprising how well timed they were. I downloaded the soundtrack and thought that was also gorgeous.

Character: 10-

Ciel Phantomhive, not your typical spoilt preteen. Despite his pessimist attitude, he has a past clouded with mystery, and his secrets are more complex than you can ever imagine. He is bound to a demon butler who's trying to eat his soul, but he plays this to his advantage, seeking revenge on those who hurt him. Ciel is fun to watch but I sometimes wish he would see how bright the world really was.

Sebastian Michealis, not your typical butler. His favourite quote is "I am simply one HELL of a butler.", which seems to be his favourite pun. He can go from evil to playful in a split second, and often seems to be protective of his master. However, don't be fooled, he is a demon, and seems to have no heart at all. He seriously just wants to devour Ciels soul. Thus you could call him a villian, yet a lot of the time you could call him the hero, protecting Ciel no matter what, even if it causes his own pain and anguish. A truly amazing character.

The servants don't seem to be sad or burdened servants at all. They are enthusiastic and all have their pasts that made them stronger and better, and are no longer hurt or afraid. They do there duty well and are very enjoyable characters to watch, especially Tanaka and Finny, who are my personal favourites.

Grelle, the somewhat disturbed grim reaper, who finds fun in everything. I have been unable to decide whether I like him or not, however he makes me laugh, and that's something. Grelle is seriously one hell of a character.

Other characters are also complex and amazing! The villians are not bigots, their opinions can almost be justified and their minds seemed to be wired in the perfect way to make them brutal and not easy to watch. That's a good thing. Characters like Lizzy and Madame Red almost brung me to tears, and the undertakers character is also hilarious.

To sum this character review up, all the characters in this series were, to put it frankly, awesome. Their words and history never cease to surprise me.

Overall: 9-

Throught this show I was shocked, scared, happy, sad, and suspicious. The art was sweet, the music was lush, the characters were intruiging and I enjoyed it emmensely. I'm serious that if you watch Kuroshitsuji, you will not find a fantasy world, but more like a harsh reality full of messages and secret morals.

This anime was amazing and I hope to find more like it ^^
