The plot centers around a human named Tsukune who accidently gets enrolled into a school named Youkai Academy, a school that's purely inhabited by monsters and meets a beautiful vampire named Moka who wears a rosary. He also comes across a few other monster girls that he ends up befriending and each of them wanting a piece of him. Kurumu the Succubus, Yukari the Witch, and Mizore the Yuki-Oona, (Ice Woman).
It's basically just a typical harem story of more then one woman wanting the same guy cause they either find him attractive or they love his personality and want to be his girlfriend and eventually; marry him but what keeps it entertaining is the comedy. The comedy is just freaking hilarious and yes there are times that it can get a little annoying but the comedy keeps it going. It's also got some great fighting sequences in it though it does get a little boring cause it only lasts like 1-3 minutes, but it's still good. The anime while probably could had been a little better I will say is pretty good. Hell, I really love the fact that they made Moka a very colorful vampire and I don't say that often for vampires because we're typically used to seeing the goth like version of a vampire which is usually what they are, but here it's just a nice change of pace really.
The music unfortunatly didn't really do it for me here. It wasn't entertaining or anything nor was it that good, with the exception of one thing, the ending theme. The ending theme was actually pretty good and I loved the scenery that they used for it. I also loved that it started out slow and then got really going with this fast pace, rock theme to it.
Despite the characters acting the same in every episode, with them trying to win Tsukune over by either seducing him, sucking his blood, or freezing him, etc. The characters were honestly not that bad, they had their own personality, their own reasons for wanting to have Tsukune to themselves, Mizore in perticular, and I liked the fact that they were all of a different race. Hell, I really enjoyed Mizore a lot. I loved her story arc, I loved her design, and I actually loved the fact that she was the only monster outside the school who knew about Tsukune before she came into the picture.
Like I said, while this anime is undeniably stupid, it is honestly a ton of fun to watch, because it was the comedy that really kept it going. Though I will say that even though we did get a second season that was also only of 13 episodes, I honestly wish we had gotten more because I think they could had made it a little better if they had more episodes to it.
