This anime is the perfect example of a masterpiece. It was short, yet sweet. To me, it shows what true love and friendship really is, and it is a very rare but pure thing. I like how the character is introduced, telling a story of her childhood and how she grew up. The bond between the two characters, Gin and Hotaru, became stronger throughout the movie and that is one of the most important things that makes a story or movie good. The dramatic buildup was impeccable, because once the climax is reached, it leaves the audience with a wave of emotion and sympathy for the characters. In fact, I cried at the end and any anime, book, or movie that makes a person cry shows how well written it was. If it impacts a person that much, it means that it was a very good piece of work.

Aside from the story and characters, the art, animation, and music were equally beautiful. When watching, I felt like I was actually there because the background art was so well done. The scenery and sound effects were amazing. The music set the mood of each scene, especially at the climax. That piano melody was perfect.

I suggest this anime to anyone who loves stories with emotional impact, lovable characters, and a memorable story. If you don't like drama, don't watch it. The bittersweet end makes it dwell in the mind for a while.
