Oh yeah the first to write a review at the end of this series. Oh yeah and my first one...

If you're looking for a (kinda) short review, try reading this one!

At first I wasn't really expecting much from this anime. I thought it was your typical dramatic love comedy... which it was at first. But not cliched in anyway, like a harem.

You're introduced to the two protagonists, Koko and Banri who are.... not into each other? I mean yeah, that's how it always starts out, but then you see that Koko is totally stuck and clingy on some other guy and you ask yourself, "How do these characters get together (clearly shown in the opening btw) when you've got this going on?"

Of course, events happen. (If you've seen Toradora, you'll see the similarities of... interesting conflicts between the two anime and it wasn't until I realized that these anime were created by the same people. That was a pleasant surprise.)

Then you realize that it turns out awfully tragic. Which also gives a supernatural element to it which, I think, it's executed well. I won't tell you exactly what it is, but if I were to split up the anime into two parts: the first part about Koko (and the two getting together) and the second part about Banri.

I've seen people give more detail on their ratings, but I like keeping things (kinda) short.

So here's why I liked it, I actually don't like all the characters in this anime. Ha ha, I have beef with all of them for different reasons, but that's because they handled or reacted to different situations ways that reminds us that we're human. I may not like them individually, but collectively they remind us of how we can act so selfish, how we do things that we think is best for everyone else, how we hide our true feelings to protect ourselves - all the "ugly" things that make us diverse and dynamic characters in our lives.
So maybe saying "not liking" is the right words for how I see these characters, but more like I appreciate them for.. I guess sharing their lives with us.

I can see people not feeling the same way for this anime, so after reading this, keep in mind that this anime may not be for you ^_^

I feel that anime in general have that duality since I haven't found an anime where there was no one who didn't like it. I'm not here to persuade everyone to watch or like Golden Time although I do highly recommend it for people who want to see something different from your high school love story (and watch a college love story) :p

Thanks for reading! :D
