The Wind Rises was the first Miyazaki film I've seen in theaters. Apparently it will also be the last, but could you say it stands up to his other films? I was first introduced to Studio Ghibli through the master piece "Grave of the Fireflies." It had such an impact on me that I wanted to see what else this company had to offer. My friend led me in the direction of the critically acclaimed Spirited Away, Nausicaä, and Princess Mononoke. I have to admit that I was blown away with these 3 films in particular. The imagination and creativity were dazzling, not to mention the animation and stories were phenomenal. So how does this film hold up?
Well, the main character reminds me of my friend Patrick, so it gets a thumbs up from me!
