Guilty Crown, probably the anime that got me into wanting to watch more supernatural/powers with a mix of romance and drama. Guilty crown is about an ordinary high school boy named Ouma Shu. He expected to continue living his life without being able to make a difference, without being able to act if a situation was occurring in front of him. In a way, this does make him a coward. But what would you do if you one day get involved into a dangerous situation, meet some random girl that stumbled upon your house, and receive powers? This is what Guilty Crown is all about.

Alright, so the story revolves around Ouma Shu's new life as he joins a terrorist group after receiving "the Power of the Kings," having to also meet Inori
Yuzuhira, the female protagonist. The first half is all about Shu trying to understand how to use his new profound power as well as helping this terrorist group. He also begins discovering Gai Tsutsugami's (the leader of the group) hidden past as well as his own. The second half is about the life after a certain incident, as the high school students try to survive. With this, Shu had to step up but new problems began uprising. During this uprising, Shu had to turn into a tyrant leader as that was probably the best way to ensure survival. Though, he had to carry a big burden Inori was always supporting him. Many people have disliked Guilty crown due to its plot holes and complex logic and plot. But if you really were to pay attention you would learn to understand it. Example, the ending was not what it seemed. People hated that it ended in a bittersweet way, as Shu had tried to suicide and save the world in the process with Inori. But Inori didn't want this and so gave her life for his. This isn't the full truth in the ending. As Shu was getting rid of the cancer, he got rid of the voids, he didn't give them back, he vanished them. As to the end, Shu took Inori's offer which meant that he accepted her soul. This means that they became one becoming closer together than ever but took away his vision in the process. To me, I understood the story completely!
Art: 7/10
The art was decent but I'd say there's nothing special to it. The art was good but could've been better. But at least the art wasn't much of a distractingly terrible element, so you could endure it.
Sound: 10/10
I gave this a perfect score since I just absolutely loved the tracks. As a fellow musician, I found the tracks to be very touching and suitable during each moment in the anime. The tracks were mainly varied from my favourite Japanese band, Supercell. Some of my favourite tracks include Euterpe, Departures, My Dearest (the 1st opening), and Bios (Simply a badass song!)
Character: 8/10
I liked the characters due to how they touched my heart. Shu and Inori are obviously my favourite couple. Shu had started off as a coward who couldn't do a thing. You can't blame him though, how would you act if you found out that a terrorist group is actually the good guys while the government was always the true problem. And, if you had been randomly selected to save the world and fight soldiers and such? You wouldn't be able to handle such a thing without being scared. As the story progressed, Shu had grown a lot and started learning the responsibility and burden he had to take when he got hold of this power. This way, he learned to become more humble, and learned that he had to save everyone. And with this, we also learned about Inori being a "monster" or "vessel," but Shu still loved her as she loved him since he showed her the true sadness of the world.
Enjoyment: 8/10
I enjoyed this show while it lasted, I literally marathoned it and finish all episodes in 1 and a half days. If you are into those powers/supernatural, romance, drama, and music anime then I highly recommend this!
Overall: 8/10
Overall, I would watch this again as I have already rewatched this once to better understand the story. I recommend this for those otaku's out there who want to start off with something fresh!
