The artistic design and the soundtrack in this movie were the two biggest things for me, though not by much. The soundtrack included grungy punk themes to soft, melancholic sounding melodies. And they were all used appropriately, they were all used to their maximum potential, and every time I heard the same song, I didn't feel like it was being overused and I didn't feel any song became bland after a while
The story and character development were fantastic, and I hold those both in very high regards. I loved how each supporting character pretty much got an episode to spend with Naota and Haruko was very interesting. Every episode got better and better for me, and once you reach the (FL)CLimax, you really feel like you've invested in something great.
Definitely check it out if you're looking to get into something quick. Just be ready to want to get back to it again a month later.
