Although Yahari isn't my typical romance, I really enjoyed this. If you're looking for a super cute, sappy romance anime than you probably shouldn't watch this. Hints of romance are seen throughout the show, but that's pretty much it. I'll admit I'm one of the girls who looks for that beautiful "first kiss" or "confession", but even though this anime lacks those two elements, I really enjoyed it.

The anime revolves around three characters - Hikigaya, Yui and Yukinoshita - and how they work together to solve various issues that are presented to them. Their differing perspectives are the main points of the show. Hikigaya, the main character, is definitely a pessimistic character, but his reflections were deep and analytical and surprisingly mature. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing things from his point of view, even though I'm more of the sweet, innocent character type.

Story: 8
The only reason I'm giving this Yahari an 8 is because not a lot actually happens in the "romance" department, if you know what I mean. I don't want to spoil the show - like I said, hints of romance are present, and I was satisfied with how the show ended. The pacing is decent - the problems that arise aren't very related, but they do contribute to character development, which I'll expand on later. I enjoyed this story specifically for its unique perspective on life and relationships. Some of Hikigaya's quotes are relatable, even if he is greatly disliked in the show. This show made me examine different dynamics in my own life - I don't necessarily look at things from Hikigaya's pov, but I do examine things more critically. How often can you say an anime makes you do that?

Art: 9
The art was actually pretty good. I think the character art was a bit better than the background art, seeing as I recall very little of the background art. I liked how the characters were drawn, specifically Yukinoshita. She was so beautiful! I also really like Hikigaya, even though he's not handsome like other male leads. His fish eyes were even kind of attractive, in a weird way.

Sound: 8
I really liked the opening theme. That's all I've really got to say on the subject lol.

Character: 10
I applaud every character in this anime. Even though you don't get to know most of them very well - like I said, Yahari revolves mainly around three characters - what you do get to see of them is enjoyable. I mentioned before that several issues are presented to Hikigaya and the rest of the club, and every character contributed and grew a little from each of these issues. Most of the issues aren't related, but you see a lot of character development from each. Personally, my favourite characters have to be Hikigaya and Yukinoshita. Their relationship is so bizarre, and their conversations are hilarious and strangely refreshing.

Enjoyment/ overall: 8
Like I said, I thoroughly enjoyed this anime even though it isn't the typical kind of romance I'm attracted to. The story altered my perspective on a lot of everyday situations, and it's because of this I applaud the deeper threads in this anime.
