Diabolik Lovers was an anime that did not meet my expectations. I thought the first episode was rather interesting; all of a sudden, Yui was put into a situation that changed her life completely. However, when I continued to watched it, the anime got boring very quickly. The plot wasn't interesting and it didn't go anywhere. There was no point to the plot; the "plot" basically only consist of Yui getting to know the brothers. Even though the plot was about getting to know the vampire brothers, there wasn't enough character develop to get to know them. There was a lot of inferences that I had to make just so I could understand what each character wanted and why each character acted the way they did. I also didn't like the characters' personality; they were kind of dull, especially Yui. I wish Yui would have been stronger, she never pursue what she wanted and just let the brothers did whatever they wanted with her. Sure, the brothers were sadistic vampires, but she could have done something to help herself in her situation.
Although I didn't like the anime, I have to say that the art was AMAZING. I loved the art. The characters were just beautiful. Every character in the anime looks reflects their personality very well. The art was probably the only motivation I had to complete the series.
Overall, I didn't like anything about Diabolik Lovers except the artwork.
