Btooom! (Anime) add (All reviews)
Jan 14, 2014
Before I go into the specifics I would like to say one thing. All of these are my own beliefs and I do not expect anyone to completely agree with them or agree with them at all. But as a person who have watched almost all genre of anime, and countless number of shows (I do not really feel like adding all to my profile), I believe my opinion may help someone who has trouble deciding "Btoom!" is worth their time or not.

Story:
First lets talk about the story on the surface. It is quite simple. Kill, survive, go home. Sadly, the over arcing story is far to simple to be interesting. However, character's back stories have been done very nicely. The underlying message is much heavier. It talks mainly about evil acts humans are capable of. When placed in a desperate situation, people are willing to go as far as murdering another human being. There are multiple situations where characters have the choice to kill or flee. Most choose to kill. Of course the show is set in an extreme situation, but the message saying that everyone is capable of evil is prominent and realistic. With a nice mix of these, the story line is enticing due to its complex yet simple nature.

*Show ends off making you want to kill yourself though.

Characters:
The first episode would make anyone want to punch the main character in the face for being so stupid. But other than that, the character developments were done quite phenomenally. Interesting back stories and significant changes in their personalities throughout the show makes every single character likable in some way.

Enjoyment:
It just like Steins;gate. It starts off incredibly slow. But once it hits the climax, you will not be able to stop watching the show. It was one of the most addicting shows I have watched in 2013.

Do I recommend it?
I highly recommend it! Even though the ending will make you want to
