Story [5] -- I'm not really a big fan of vampire themed animes, and Diabolik Lovers is one reason why I still dislike the genre.The story isn't all cliche, it had it's own mix to it. For instance, the mysterious woman that Yui saw at the end of episode one and how will the brothers deal with their uncontrollable lust for human blood. But one of the many reasons why I don't like it is because (i think) the pace was a bit too fast were in I couldn't catch up. The fact that Yui ended up in a place where she wasn't much welcomed and she was somehow naive throughout the whole anime! I also disliked the way she acts when she is being bitten by one of the vampires, she doesn't even make much effort to stop them--it's like she is enjoying it very much! She may not have a big chance to stop being bitten but she should at least show an effort! I skipped a few episodes so I can't say much of the story, but from my point of view, it isn't that special.
Art [7] -- The art is fitting to the atmosphere of the anime, dark and suspense. From the gate of the mansion to the rest of the backgrounds, it really was stunning. All of them were drawn ideally except Subaru's eyes on his hair and a few other points. The character design is okay but it could be improved--were in they will not look like a Korean boy band.The animation isn't that special, it's just average.
Sound [9] -- I honestly didn't payed much attention to the soundtrack, it wasn't the best I've heard but it's good.
Characters [8]-- I somehow didn't like how some characters acted, though I feel horrible for Yui. Every vampire acted like a bad ass and they would scare the hell out of Yui about wanting to suck her blood, it was an average vampire attitude. Though I would like to point out how cool and awesome Shu is. :3
Enjoyment [3] -- Sorry but I didn't had much fun, I simply had a poker face on while watching. It was either because I'm a heartless spawn of satan or I just don't like the flow of the anime. But this is just an opinion, half of the people I knew who watched this got addicted over this anime.
Overall [2] -- Unfortunately, Diabolik Lovers did not contain that special element that would (somehow) change my perspective on the vampire genre. At the end of the day Diabolik Lovers is just one good art with reverse harem written all over it.
