The games are a masterpiece of no other in my opinion, that being said something such as this can't transition to the likes of a 13 episode series all too well.
However that being said I see it more of an add on to the game.
It's wonderful to see all of the scenes animated rather than using sprites with the occasional single imaged event.
Story: 9/10 The story as a whole is wonderful, but being put into a 13 episode slot was visibly a hard job. A lot of things were either left out or put in with little effort.
Art: 5/10 You can tell instantly that it was rushed. Certain scenes are almost laughable how rushed they are! It still shines in other areas however, so once you get away from the awkward in betweens you'll notice a lot of well executed scenes (pun intended).
Sound: 10/10 The original sound is most likely my favorite soundtrack of all time. A lot of the tracks for this have been slightly altered, but not too much to ruin any enjoyment. In addition to this, the end theme is a great song alone as well being completely fitting (lyrics wise).
Character: 4/10 Obviously with 13 episodes they couldn't pack a lot of character development into this. Coming out of the series someone could completely misinterpret the characters as a whole. They get the main point across but forget the rest most of the time.
Enjoyment: 8/10 As I mentioned before I personally think of it more as an 'add on'. That being said it's wonderful to watch! However its almost laughable how fast the trials go. The days of screaming at your PSP to get the characters to understand the situation is far behind us, but instead we have a bunch of genius' figuring everything out faster than the original investigation! Other than that, it's always a pleasure to see our favorite scenes animated.
Bottom line: Don't watch this unless you've played the game.
