Forgive me for rating this all 10s but that's just I think, it's an amazing episode on all accounts. The amazing thing about harem anime is the diversity in romance options that it provides. This goes for video games, movies, etc. as well and this show actually originates from a dating sim game. Anime is sadly not as interactive as a video game and with so many people having varying opinions, the love interest that the protagonist chooses isn't always the favorite choice of all. Alternate endings such as this one are the icing on top of the cake and with 3 alternate endings (which make up roughly half of the love interests in the show) this really tailors to many viewers choices. Kyou was my personal favorite with Kotomi being 2nd (sadly there was no alternate ending for her) and I was like a kid on Christmas when I found out this episode existed. If you've watched Clannad and have mixed reviews abut Tomoya's choice, please watch this as well as the Tomoyo alternate ending.
