First thing I have to say is, why is this so much better than the original pokemon series? This is because us, the pokemon fanatics can actually relate to this pokemon series very well because we have all played Generation 1 pokemon games and this is exactly what we want to see, a character that we, have played in a game and can also relate to. I watched this one day before X and Y got released so there was a lot of pokemon hype, if you want to watch a pokemon anime that isn't the original anime go watch this one because it's in my opinion much better.
Story: 7/10
The story is simple, we all know it, red starts of in pallet town recieves his first pokemon with his rival bla bla bla. Basicly red goes through what every player goes through during the game, battling team rocket at lavender town, battling the gym leaders and finally facing the champion. Threw this time we as players and him as a character experience growth, in our pokemons strength and our own strength. Not amazing, not complicated, not mysterious or anything, we all know the basics of pokemon games.

Art: 7/10
The art in this anime is not awesome although it is better than the original pokemon anime art.

Sound 10/10
In my opinion this is the best part of the anime, the nostalgia feels when he goes through the caves and towns we have been to when we were kids and the exact same soundtracks are playing as he is going through them, if they were trying to get to our nostalgia they succeeded here.

Enjoyment: 8/10
Nothing special, but this 4 episode anime can provide a short period of entertainment, mostly nostalgic value.

Overall: 7/10
For a 4 episode anime this does a decent job in keeping you entertained throughout those 4 episodes, reccomended if you have played the pokemon games.
