A review at a glance:
A visual and audial treat. That's how I'd describe Hyouka in a sentence. Episode 1 promises "This will be the prettiest shit you're going to see in a TV anime in your lifetime" and the rest doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately, I'm going to gamble that most people will probably drop Hyouka after episode three when they realise that it's not a genre they like. This anime is a logical deduction mystery anime, that means there's a lot of talking and not very much action.
I would recommend Hyouka if
-You're looking for a cute mystery anime without a heavy plot
-You're a fan of artwork and animation, or you want to watch a good example of direction
-You think everyday life lacks mystery
-You want to learn a bit about the mystery genre
I would not recommend Hyouka if
-You want action, tits or slapstick comedy
-You can't stand "Talking head" anime
-You want deep or intense emotional drama
ED 2 is the cutest shit.
