Summer is a time of youth and enjoyment. Death is something hard to deal with, especially when it happens to someone close to you. What do these two things have in common?

This anime.

We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shirana) contains a very touching, heartwarming story. Jintan is essentially a high school dropout who skipped his first semester of high school, and is looked down upon by everyone. It wasn't always that way. When he was younger, he had five friends: Poppo, Yukiatsu, Anaru, Tsurumi, and Menma, together they were The Super Peace Busters and Jintan was their awesome leader. Until Menma died. As time progressed, they grew apart, each blaming themselves for the death of Menma, whom they all loved. They changed, and now don't even talk to each other. Except for Jintan, who is the only on who can see Menma's ghost. Menma came back to have her wish granted, except she doesn't know what it is. The only thing she knows is that everyone has to be together for it to come true. Jintan, annoyed by Menma, must get the group back together. Jintan faces many trials and bumps on the road trying to get his friends back together. He learns not only the true feelings of all his friends, but what Menma actually means to him.

The story is a very touching one and while it does take the ocassional dark turn, it is ripe with comedy, romance, emotion and makes for a very good romcom.
