Sakamichi no Apollon (also known as Kids on the Slope), is an anime known for it's jazz elements. However, it is more about the life of a shy boy Kaoru, who learns what true friendship is through music.
The Good: The musical movements presented in this anime are so fluid and well animated, whether it be drumming or Kaoru playing on the piano. Something I loved from the get-go was the friendship between Kaoru and Sentaro, and I still did by the end.
Sakamichi no Apollon is a drama with musical elements, and not much more. But, this anime seems to make me feel for the characters, and soothe me with inspirational jazz music. The romantic elements seem realistic, although formulaic and very "Korean drama"
