Hataraku Maou-sama has the potential to be better than it is, that being said it is not a bad anime. Maou and his underling Ashiya are both demons, who find themselves in modern day Japan, and in the first episode this is exploited quite well with neither of them knowing how things work, however they both adapt to life in Japan very quickly, and good moments that could have happened are lost due to this quick transition, which could have worked better had it transitioned in through the series a bit more, as well as Maou losing his evil streak which is pretty much gone from the beginnning.

All of the main characters are likable, the minor/enemy characters however don't fit quite as well and the series doesn't really have a climax, with the ending very easily being open for future series'.

Despite the lack of acclimatising to Japan, Maou-sama is quite entertaining with the occasional funny moment, and I would recommend it if there's nothing else pressing for you to watch
