What seemed at first was your typical action, blood and guts everywhere with your typical hero who has the strength of an M1 Abrams tank destroys everything in it's path. That's what i thought when watching the first episode but after watching the whole thing, I was so wrong.
It's simplistic story is enticing, and the same goes for the characters. Besides the action berserk has so much to offer in terms of character development and drama. But if you just want to watch it for the action, fear not because there is a lot of fighting in this 26 episode series.
The art ant sound is typical for a 1997 production, which is not a bad thing at all. The animation is good and the art really complements the mood of the story. They also used many still images either in the end or at certain scenes of the story which looked really good.
So if your are looking for a series with the best of both worlds, then this is for you.
