The art all looks fantastic, don't be put off by their pointy chins because it's a beautiful tale of survival in a small town.
The last half of the episodes heated up a bit and had far more happening in each episode, 20 minutes would just fly by in the blink of an eye. Even when there wasn't much action the characters stories were interesting enough to keep your attention and you were made to care for the characters pretty much straight away.
The end of the first episode was such a surprise then so were a lot of other things that ended up happening. I was definitely kept on my toes.
You cared for the humans and vampires and often didn't know whose side you should actually be on which was interesting because usually you're meant to side for one team or the other but this was made a hard decision in this case.
The ending was brilliant and really has left room open for another season if they wanted to make one.
