Sometimes these flashbacks takes up 90% of a epsiode and the episode after shows even more flashbacks.
Most of the flashbacks are not needed therefore they ruin the show.
The story it self is really good and is something that you can come a long way with, and they do they continue to put out new arcs that fits with the story.
It could have been great.
It could have been a really good anime.
But with all of these flashbacks it aint.
