C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control had an interesting premise and pretty good OP. However, almost everything else was executed poorly. Since I completely wasted my time with this show hoping that it would be fulfilling, i'm angry enough to write an review on it.

Note: I do have a potential spoiler rant at the end of the review.

Story: 3

These guys had absolutely no idea what they were doing when it came to the plot.

The setting and the idea was great, hell have a gazillion dollars and fight other people with money? COOL! However, the writers didn't seem to know what to do after they came up with that super cool idea. It had a reasonably slow start, an unreasonably slower middle, suddenly OH LOOK "-----C------" is HAPPENING EVERYONE PANIC. Don't even get me started on that asspull at the end, that was bullshit and you know it was.

In between the time Yoga came to the district and the time -----"---------C---------"--- absolutely jack shit happened other than introducing a shit ton of characters (i will get to THEM in a second) and deal after deal. No, we did not need a character breakdown on a teacher that we didn't even recognize until it was pointed out that he was a teacher. No, we did not need to stretch out activities for the guild and watch as bland characters go "hahaha we're so cool". NO, WE DID NOT NEED AN ENTIRE FLASHBACK ABOUT A CHARACTER WHO ALREADY TOLD HIS STORY TO THE MAIN CHARACTER EPISODES AGO.

Instead of wasting their time with pointless and unconvincing character introductions and development, they could have wasted their time enriching the world and the system that the writers created. Rather than spending episode after episode explaining the effects on the outside world, lets talk about the district? Questions and facts that should have been answered at the beginning of the series still remain unanswered even after the series ends. I could go on, but i'll just make it simple for you:

You go in with nothing and leave with an awkward end, more questions ( if you still even care about this shit story), and maybe a conscious to pick up a penny whenever you see it. That's it.

Art: 4

The background and scenery was good. As i said before, i liked the world and setting and i loved the nice art that came with it. However, the level of QUALITY in Psycho Pass episode 18 was the same level as every single episode of this series. I had to pause at some points of the show because i could not fucking believe my eyes when i saw the blatant CGI flop this show presented. Seriously, what the fuck? At least TRY to stay consistent. See, if Mysu was 3D-ified only inside her card world thing, that would be okay. But after I saw Yoga go full 3D model walking down the street i was pretty much done.

Sound: 8

ISSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO KOWASHITE KURE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

matryoshka etc etc

The OP is one of the best out there. At this time, i'm listening to it constantly. The OST gets you pumped, and at the same time its fun. No voices were irritating to listen to, except for maybe that Caribbean guy, and yeah, they did a great job with that.

Character: 4

There are only two characters that will catch your interest in this show. Mikuni and Mysu. Yoga at first seems like a promising protagonist but ends up becoming bland and annoying, like everyone else, a few episodes later. I guess the writers just decided to focus on other things because they were just done with him at a certain point.

There is nothing remarkable about the white hair girl other than the fact that she bought three fast food cheeseburgers at once and only ate one. Oh, and she goes "OH MY GOD RAAAAUGH you can use my pokemon HAHAH YEAH YOU CAN DO THAT YOU GUYS COOL RIGHT?/!!!!11"

None of members in the guild were interesting. Maybe it was because there was no proper character introductions for them or...? Their literal purpose was to Make Mikuni look like a super cool badass businessman.

Mikuni was interesting, and yes he ended up as my favorite. The writers knew that Mikuni was going to be popular so they basically spent their entire budget on him, giving him a pointless flashback, making him in almost every single episodes when he really wasn't needed, giving the little character development they were willing to give to him, making one of the two characters with a solid personality.

Personally, I thought Mysu was annoying at first, but she is a character that you warm up too as an asset learning about human stuff. If you are going to watch this at any point even after reading this review, watch it for her.

Enjoyment: 6

Yeah, i gave it a decent score because i enjoyed the deal battles. There were also times when i was 'excited' and hoping that something cool would happen. Especially with the cliffhanger bullshit they pulled, and then you sat through the opening? Super cool.

Overall: 4

The show had its good points. I sat down and watched it and hell I thought it was going to be a strong success. However it just ended up being a blatant laughable disaster. So yeah, don't waste your time with this show.

And the end, oh my fuck the end. Where did the black card come from? Why the hell didn't we know that Yoga had this fucking card at the beginning of the show? Where the fuck did this card come from? What are the qualifications of getting this card? Plot? There is no way in hell this DARKNESS card does anything but just make money, and the fact that they made the card only have that certain role and present it out of nowhere is appalling. There is a difference between the element of surprise and pulling something out of your ass.
