Story: 8/10
The story is perhabs a little difficult to understand at first. I'm not quite sure I understand it completely after watching it, but I'm sure it helps once I finish watching the second season! However, I did enjoy the story. It had a nice build up to the great finale, but there were times, where all the smaller battles between Shinku and Suigintou got a bit on my nerves. First, Suigintou would show up, laugh like an evil witch, then leave for no reason, only to come back an episode later to do the same thing all over again. And I still don't completely get why they hate each other so much, it left me with a lot of unanswered questions. However, I forgive this while it's only the first season.
Art: 7/10
There's not much to say here. The animation was good, the art was pretty and girly - which fitted the dolls very well. I do feel like they could have done a little to the humans character designs - they didn't seem half as good as the dolls.
Sound: 8/10
They soundtrack and music fits the anime really well. It gave the anime a very great atmosphere - and it made me feel something when I watched it.
Character: 8/10
The characters - especially the dolls, are very lovable. Jun has some character devolpment and so does Shinku - it makes the show worth watching. All the other characters did a good job as supporting characters. Especially Suiseiseki happend to grow on me a lot throughout the season - she was sooo annoying to begin with, but she had character devolpment that made her grow on me.
Enjoyment: 7/10
It was a nice watch - I was looking for a nice anime to watch that could make me laugh a little and go "awww" - and Rozen Maiden was perfect for that. It's not too complicated but it still makes you wonder a bit and it left me wanting to know more about these little dolls.
Overall: 8/10
I enjoyed it and I'm moving on to season 2 straight away!
