In my opinion, Shinsekai Yori is the best anime I have ever seen. I love how the series blend many different genres such as futuristic and psychological. I love how the story is fueled through many science based topics such as genetics. The characters in this show are great because most of them are relatable and even the most inhuman of characters seem human because of how psychologically driven this show is. For example, I can relate to Saki, the main character, so well and her reactions to the events (some of them at least) would be same as mine. This is why she is my favorite character in the series. Because this show follows many different stages of the characters' lives, it is interesting to see how the various characters mature and change throughout the series. The story is very complex and it seem that like in the end, that every detail matters. The best part is seeing how these details will affect the story. The many themes in this story such as moral ambiguity move the story on by portraying which is morally right versus what is best for society as a whole. The best part of this series is how everyone is portrayed as totally human and are affected by human traits all throughout the series like paranoia still being present in an "utopian" society. I love how this series shows how false a utopian society is and how the government must hide society's problems through many evil techniques. The art style is something that I have never seen in an anime before which adds the uniqueness of this series. The ost to this series is amazing and helps build up the most important scenes in the series. Also the song "Goin Home" or "Largo from Dvorak's 9th Symphony" is one of the most symbolic pieces of music in this series (I won't say more about it though).

Overall, this series deserves a 10/10. It is the only series up to date where I would stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning waiting for the subbed version to come out. Also the episodes went by very fast and it made 22 minutes seem a lot shorter.
