Love is something that can grow from a first encounter/friendship and this film shows that well.
I really liked how the feelings Hotaru has for Gin changes as she gets older and is able to fully understand and appreciate her own feelings.
The film is stunning at points, The music is a standout for me, always was fitting for the scene's + the visuals were very nice too, not the best I've ever seen even in 1080P.
Only downside i can think of, is the style of the film is mainly a Time-lapse of many Summers Hotaru has with Gin in the Forest. Some can take this the wrong way and find little content going on during most of these scenes, but for me i enjoyed the way the film was put together.
Hotarubi no Mori e is a small bundle of pure unrequited love that is an enjoyable 44 Minutes. It's a shame it wasn't any longer i would of loved a little bit more but it was short and sweet and defiantly worth your time to watch.
