i really don't want to ruin the series for you, but with only 22 episodes and a story line that will touch your hearts and make you wonder if there really are vampires out there this will have to be one of the best manga's i've red in my entire life and the best anime i've ever watched about vampires!
i know i'm very picky whenever it comes to vampire and werewolf books and films, but it's only because vampires really aren't meant to be in love and this story proves what a cold blooded real vampire is truely like.if you've never heard of shiki then don't stop reading this review, because trust me shiki is an amazing story that will keep you on the edge of your seat all of the way through!!!!the story line for shiki isn't that basic and i don't really want to ruin it for everyone so here is wht i would say is a basic plot guide for all of you who have never watched shiki........
The main characters are;
Megumi: Megumi is a lovely young girl who is the heart of the village she lives in, shes full on and has a crush on a by who moved in a year ago called Natsuno. She always has a dream of leaving the "run down" village and moving it to the big city! where she can have the freedom to be who she wants to be and will have the life she has always dreamed of. She hates the village and most of the people there and only has 1 well known freind that is used many times in the story. Every time she sees Natsuno she'll try and get close to him in whatever way she can.
Natsuno: Natsuno is Megumi's crush, but the problem is he absolutely hates the village more then she does and hates Megumi herself in every way, and every time Megumi attempts to get close to him he throws it right back in her face which then adds to the drama of the whole story. Natsuno has no freinds in the village until later on in the story.
I won't give away any more of the characters as you may start to guess what happens and ruin it for yourselves, i won't go into depth but a breif explanation of what happens at the beginning will do for now!
after the Kirishiki family move in to a abandoned mansion rumors have been going round of things, strnage things, going on at night.....
Megumi is there first victim after shes in a bad mood and is on a rant about the village and how much she hates it, she sees the mansion one day and wants to meet the family hoping that they are rich and have moved from the big city into the village, she has no idea who these people are and what they want to do in the village, she day dreams all the way up to the mansion about them realising her pain and misery and adopting her......but in this situation it seems impossible.
later on a search party is set out for Megumi, she is later found in ditch in the surronding forest covered in what seems to be bite marks, shes covered from head to toe in the mysterious marks....and later she passes away leaving her 2 best freinds to pick up the pieces that the kirishiki family have left behind.
it is a must read/ must watch as the anime goes into a bit more detail about the whole situation then the book. If you've never watched/ red it then your defiantly missing out!

oh my god....It has finally happened ladies and gentlemen they are finally releasing Shiki dubbed episodes part 1 episodes 1-12. And they said they will never be released in england (i am not trolling right now)
