-Both have some sort of bureau organized to defeat these threats
-Both main characters are transformed into half human half paranormal entity due to a grave injury
-Both deal with similar heavy themes, which I can't disclose here in the interest of not spoiling the story

Similar style of story with ghouls and devils, with the main character sort of being to both worlds (humans and ghouls/devils) at the same time. Lots of gore and fights. Lots of insane characters and a police sort of institution.

-one MC loves literature and the other MC loves movies, and both manga are heavily influenced by books and movies respectively
-both have an incredibly emotive, scratchy, and flowy artstyle
-both stories are feature incredibly tragic thing to happen to the main character
-both main characters have their lives ruined by being manipulated into loving someone evil
-both manga have a sequel manga
-both manga are incredibly dark and bloody, and don't shy away from showing nudity and sex
-both have well developed and non-objectified female characters

Chainsaw Man and Tokyo Ghoul run thematically parallel in many ways exploring primitive survival, social outcasts and dehumanising organisations. While the main characters Denji and Kaneki share a similar backstories, Denji's manages to be more tragic but at the same time less pitiful. Characters in Chainsaw Man are decently fleshed out though not as thoroughly characterised as those in Tokyo Ghoul, and the humour is significantly more vulgar and absurd. Where Chainsaw Man stakes its claim over Tokyo Ghoul would be the lack of melodrama hammering home of tragedy that often renders Tokyo Ghoul tiresome and replaces it with adrenaline.

Both deals with an MC who transforms into a devil and now they have to adjust to that
They are both very gore, i read Tokyo Ghoul first and i thought it would be the best manga i ever read and then i started reading Chainsaw Man and changed my mind..
Both have similar style and design. Not very long chapters. Both are very easy read with lots of action and amazing art. Both are tragic stories told in a very unique way. Both have amazing endings as well that pave way for a sequel without giving off the vibe of being incomplete in any way . And finally, imo, both are masterpieces.
Both have a very bloody and edgy taste to them but they are still extremely entertaining while remaining very descriptive and poetic
- Both series have creatures that feed on humans. Ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul and Devils in Chainsaw Man.
- Both the protagonists, Kaneki and Denji have their lives changed forever by encounter of some life-threatening incident.
- Both the Protagonists end up fusing with the "monsters" they previously despised.
- Both series have evil organizations that want to use the MCs powers for themselves.
- A lot of side characters also have similar character sketches.

Tokyo Ghoul and Chainsaw Man both have protags that have been severely changed and altered due to an outside force, and must live somehow with it. On top of that, it's gory for those who love gory anime and has a nice plot that will make you continue reading.
