Through certain circumstances, main girl finds herself a member of the Schools' Railway Club (which just happens to find itself desperately short of members) despite not having much interest in Trains or Railways. But interest and enthusiasm starts to build, and friendships grow while participating in club activities, railfanning and train journeys with the other members. Both Manga also point out interesting facts about the railway system & rolling stock. Both are also Slice Of Lifes although 'Hatsukoi*Rail Trip' has some slight Shoujo-ai/Yuri elements to it.
