Modern urban fantasy with a delicious blend of comedy and drama, and a great ensemble cast. Yozakura Quartet has a lot more supernatural beings, most of whom are youkai, but there are some prominent supernatural aspects (namely Celty) evident in Durarara!! too. And if the artwork looks familiar, there's a good reason. YZ's mangaka did the artwork for the Durarara!! novels and the anime character design.
Their premise may be different but Durarara!! and Yozakura Quartet composes of a colorful cast of characters with unique personalities and abilities. Their personal lives are also explored that intersects with certain events in the story. Although their settings aren't alike, it's noticeable that both series explores the culture and ideals within their society. The supernatural powers in both series are also strangely detailed that are shrouded by mystery.
