Kami nomi and Saekano are shows that feature an otaku protagonist surrounded by a bunch of girls with various interesting personality. What make them stand out is that both are parody in nature, and are fully self-aware of the tropes and cliches in anime and galgame, sometimes going further to make fun of them.

Both shows revolve around otaku protagonists who are passionate for dating sims in particular, and contains a cast comprised of other girls. Both shows are very self-aware and manifests their parodical nature, almost as if they are subtly making fun of other anime in the industry. References to other anime can also be seen throughout.

While both have different plots, the MC's personality are exactly the same. Saekano is about a student who wants to create a dating sim while Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai prefers a student who wants to get rid of spirits possessing students by making them fall in love and kiss them at the end to get rid of the spirit. (same way Date A Live works)
The MC for both is a student who lives for dating sims day by day and has a long history of dating sims, to the point where both anime revolve around their obsession with it.
Both feature an out of the closet otaku who find themselves in a harem romantic comedy with gaming themes.
Both show's artistic approach is slightly different from the norm. Kami nomi with its pop out characters, and SaeKano with its colour contrast and attention to detail when it comes to female movement and gestures.

-both mc are an otaku
-both try to convince girls to reach their goal
-harem?
-dating
-cute girls
-flashbacks
-all girls love the mc
I found myself liking both anime for the same reasons:
- MC's are otakus
- both are (kind of) harems (Saekano has more ecchi though)
- both are fully self-aware and poke fun at otaku culture and common tropes in the anime industry
- lots of anime/light novel/dating sim references (similar comedic elements)
- both crank up the drama a bit in later seasons
Overall, if you liked the general feel and comedy of one anime, you are sure to enjoy the other.
The parody of the harem genre and the meta commentary for these shows are almost identical.
They both revolve around dating sims.
The main characters have almost identical personalities.
