Although, Saraiya Goyou is older than Revenger, they both have a similar story: use the skills and techniques of a samurai in jobs that questions his integrity and morals.
From the first moment that I saw episode 1 from Saraiya Goyou, it took me to Revenger. The samurai from House of 5 leaves is poor and hungry and wants to accomplished his dream as a samurai, also he has a complicated personality. The main character from Revenger has more dark background, but also a complicated personality. Both of them are lead on by a man that would do anything to accomplish what he wants.

In these historical narratives, a samurai gets involved with a gang of diverse characters via their mysterious leader. Everyone has their past and reason for taking up the illicit business, and Saraiyo Goyou chooses to highlight that facet of the story. Meanwhile, Revenger adds some action and plot twists into the mix, resulting in a less touching yet more story-driven product.
