Everything is happening very fast in these 2 series, main characters are similar
Both are dark comedies and both of the main characters are losers

Both series presents an unique way of presenting their visuals and story to the viewers; surrealism
Furthermore, the main protagonist from both series often thinks too much and about subjects that are considered absurd and strange. Yet, at the same time it is funny and entertaining with the random gags.
Both series uses word play and has very humorous dialogues that are often exaggerated and over the line.
The two series also often make fun of modern culture and other references through the usage of its dialogues and word plays. It is parody at its finest and definitely something to take an eye on.
A similar style of animation and design, as well as having similarly fast-paced dialogue and humor. This show however, is much less humor-oriented in comparison to Zetsubou Sensei.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, is an episodic series that contained Dark Humor that can be represented as a satire to human's life.
Tatami Galaxy either is an episodic series, except for a few part. It contains some satire to the humanity just like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Beside the plot, both series are similar in the term of:
-Uniqueness of the Artstyle. Both of them have their own unique artstyle, means that none of them's artstyle are boring.
-Pace. Both of them are fast-paced.
-Randomness. Both of them are random, except for a few part of Tatami Galaxy.
-Main Character. Both of them have a hopeless and careless main character.

Both the leads are pretty similar and that also includes appearance wise and have a strange sense of comedy in it as well too.

Both are dark comedies that feature a protagonist similar in appearance and personality: both are depressed, cynical, paranoid and overthinking, both also struggle with all that's wrong in the world for them to succeed.
The animation in both also is similar, with surreal scenes and use of live-action imagery that enhances the feeling of angst and misery both protagonists undergo with. They are both pretty fast paced anime as well.
