Both martial arts focused anime with over the top action. Both have very similar appeal due to a lot of the prevalent themes in both anime. Characters and relationships have similarities in both series and each anime would likely both be enjoyed by the same target audience.

Main characters are in high school and are maniac for fighting: Both Jin (GoH) and Nagi (Tenjou Tenge) want to become the strongest high schoolers.
- Both plots are focused in the different martial arts fighting styles.
- Both have strong female characters.
- Both have great opening songs (!!!)
God of High school's characters have interesting backstories. However, the show is concentrated around the fights. While Tenjou Tenge is a bit longer, so the anime has some good fighting but gets to focus a lot more on the plot.

Both anime are shonen about martial artists in a rather grounded setting, with just that tad bit of over the top action you need to really enjoy yourself. They're also both similarly bad
