Both series feature two protagonists—one white-haired, the other black-haired—in a sort of guarded-guardian relationship. As well, both white-haired protagonists have more to them than meets the eye. The characters of Karneval and K [Project] interact within alternate realities wherein mystical occurrences are possible.
The two series share the quality of having fantastical aspects in play throughout their progressions. Characters' powers are unique, and there's no shortage of futuristic gadgets and sci-fi elements. In conjunction with this environment are paramount forces and organizations that engage in power struggles as connections between characters are gradually revealed.
Both anime have similar art styles and they both have some super natural elements. Both MC's have similar personalities and style as well.

Mysterious organisations, tons of handsome guys, a slightly similar plot and a decent amount of action - if you happen to like one of these, you'll definitely like the other.

Main character pairs (Shiro&Kuro, Nai&Gareki) are similar in both appearance and character. The plot is also somewhat similar. Both have some sort of group systems and are set in futuristic super power kind of world.
Both are fantasies with similar art styles and feature a weak but kinda adorable main character who makes a strong and unlikely friend and isn't what they seem. I also think it's safe to compare Scepter 4 to Circus....
