I found these shows to be alike in their atmosphere. Another and Mayoiga are very eerie and set a certain uncomfortable (something bad is going to happen) atmosphere. Mayoiga and Another are both uncovering a secret about a village/class and indulge in mystery. Another is more horror geared than Mayoiga that's more mystery based.

So, two series that indeed focus on the sociological aspects of groups, and... it reveals a lot not only about the characters in the anime, and their psychology (particularly in Mayoiga), but also in... one guesses, the viewers.
In one the 'horror' aspect is consigned to a spectacle of blood showers (don't think 'Mayo' had any at all), in the other a study of group interactions is conducted whereupon certain 'externalities' (keeping it abstract) are confused subjectively and, like in Another, groups start suspecting themselves...
Not sure what else I can say that doesn't spoil, read my review on 'Mayo' I guess for more, but one thing...

- Both have a (specific) female character who is the most suspicious
- And both have a main character who is determined to solve the mystery/mysteries, and want to protect the most accused female
- Both mystery and have a bit of horror (thriller, and drama too)
- Lots of accusations in both shows
- Both have mysterious events, incidents, disappearances, and deaths
- Cliffhangers and plot twists in both shows
- Both have an eerie and dark atmosphere (same vibe)
Throughout the series, your heart will beat fast, trust me. Both shows are good at creating suspense. Characters disappear/die.
Both are horror and have the same "heavy" atmosphere.
+ Both has a lot of characters for such short [12 episodes each] shows
+ Both started to build hilarious mystery from ep 1...
+ Both tried to be dark/edgy/mature(??) in which people suffer [ Another was better at this than Mayoiga ]
+ Both female MC's are weird....and their Male counterparts also....
+ Both have cliffhangers at every episode [ which is great btw ]
+ Funny character interactions...idk that was fun to watch... you'll be entertained...
- Salty haters a.k.a Critics = I know that you don't like nonsensical plot, but to hate these shows so much just for that??? idk, probably you don't like to turn off your

I'd say that both have the same thriller vibe, where unsuspecting people would die one after the other, but I do have to say that Another has more to offer than Mayoiga in terms of thriller, cu'z Mayoiga is more of a mystery thriller. Never the less both were promising.
While not as good as Another, it is another enjoyable train wreck by the acclaimed comedy director Tsutomu Mizushima.

Both have a very similar dark and eerie vibe/atmosphere.
They both have creepy horror elements in addition to mystery
>Mayoiga is about solving the mystery of a village
> Another is about solving the mystery of their classroom
