Both are high school slice-of-life romances, though Boys Be is a bit more lighthearted than Clannad, which is the more dramatic of the two.
Both stories revolve around daily life, I would say Boys be and clannad are most similar in the way that both leads are trying to find their "true self". I would definitely say Boys be... is better than clannad but not as good as the after story, so if you're done after story and you want an anime with the same feel and vibe and what i believe to be equally good story, i would highly recommend boys be....
