Being a cook myself, I do have a fondness of the sub-genre that is cooking. With the rise in popularity of the series Shokugeki no Souma, there also rose a small trend in the culinary culture. Bambino; however, still stands as an unique one-of-a-kind series despite this.

Focusing on the young protagonist Ban, an inspiring chef. The story begins as he lands a job in the kitchen of the popular Italian restaurant, Trattoria Baccanale. While having just finished culinary school, he quickly realized the workplace is like nothing he could ever be prepared for.

Starting from the bottom, the story progresses as he moves up the ladder, ... striving to earn a position as a cook for himself. The series really highlights what hard work and passion really is as no matter how far ahead Ban finds himself, everyone still calls him by his nickname Bambino meaning youngster. What makes this series so unique is that it displays a realistic reflection of the restaurant industry as well as gives a glimpse into the lives of the employees who work there. Unlike most cooking anime or manga that highlights the creative nature of chefs, Bambino highlights the hectic, fast-paced and the demanding workplace that is the kitchen. By no means is it ever a good workplace but a part of the pride of a cook is to be able to strive in such an environment and when it comes to creativity, it is maybe at best 10% of the job while the rest is all determination and hard work.

While I did say that Bambino displays a realistic portrayal of the industry, there are some parts that are a miss. It is a drama and there are parts that are less believable for the story's sake; however, it can still be entertaining.

Other then Ban the rest of the cast are made up of some rather interesting characters. From mentors to rivals, the story really takes its time to go into their personal life. The shit that some of them have to deal with and the choices they must make really displays the harshness of reality and how passion fits in with it.

Tuxedo Gin is a slice of life, comedy, romance series. It fallows the traditional Japanese slice of life/comedy set up found in many classical manga titles such as Doraemon, Ranma 1/2, Sgt. Frog... Unlike these more popular series; however, Tuxedo Gin is one that never got much spotlight and it sadly remains out of most people's radar. With that said I am still a bit surprise to have the privilege of being the first to review this simple, enjoyable series for MAL.

Simple is probably the best word to describe this series. It starts off with one simple unique concept, then developes and extends as far ... as the author's imagination goes. Adding this to the typical romance story where two very different characters somehow developes feelings with each other and you get Tuxedo Gin: Where a badass high school delinquent, Ginji Kusanagi, dies but then reincarnates to watch over and pursues his cute and kind-hearted girlfriend, Minako Sasebo, as a small, cute, not so helpless, flightless avian, a penguin.

The story is set up with the main story arc placed only in the beginning and the end of this series. With both added you get about 1 volume (maybe less). The other 14 volumes are filled with one chapter stories and small arcs. Some to introduces new characters, some serve to discover existing characters and some are simply just for fun putting the characters in fun or awkward and bizarre situations then see them play it out. In these quick individual stories it is easy for the author to insert almost anything he can imagine.

The artwork in this series is one that changes slightly to suit the story and the artist. In the beginning the artist wanted to captivate the audience, as a result a lot more time is spent in the artwork and designs. After a bit his design became more refined and simpler to draw. The character designs became more cute as opposed to a realistic style.

For characters, well you have Gingi who is the typical delinquent, badass that we all know and love. Also Minako who is the typical man’s image of the perfect girlfriend type character also found in many shounen romance series. All in all, very simple but solid main characters. The supporting cast is huge as new characters are introduced constantly to allow more ideas to be executed and more chemistry to develope between them.

Overall Tuxedo Gin is not a series that will take you out of this world but a fun series to lay back to and enjoy after a stressful day. It is a difficult one to give a high rating to because of the simplicity; however, the enjoyment, the humor, the chemistry between the characters, the situations... Of this manga is seriously one to be treasured.

As a Kouji Seo fan you will read many forms of romance. From something down to earth realistic to something supernatural and ecchi. With this story love letter he is saying I can write a tear-jerker too.

The story is very nicely told. The way it used letters to tell parts of the story is very nice. It sets the mood, gives it intensity as well as emotion and it's placed so well in the story it never felt out of place or forced. One thing about this is the plot doesn't feel very original. I can see this story line easily being used in a ... movie or novel before. However the story it self is still very story and nicely done so even if its not original its still very enjoyable.

The artwork is very light and suits the story well. However even with light drawings it also has some very fine detail to appreciate. The shading makes it look like a photo that era so it fits with the theme.

I recommended this story to a friend the other day his comment on it was its way too predictable. Its true its very predictable. What happens in the end can easily be seen so if your someone that think a likes surprises and complexity or uniqueness maybe this story is not the best. As for me I also find it predictable but didn't mind it much because of the flow of it is very nice. Even when it is a tragic tear-jerker story. The taste was bitter sweet because of the light atmosphere and even though the ending has sadness it also felt satisfying.

I've read a few volumes of this series. I find that with all the Sakura Wars series it relies heavily on the characters. Most of the story is about how the characters develop. The setting is very unique. It takes place in the 1910s or 20s with a lot of steam powered machines including the mechs which is totally different style from gundams. Overall the story is interesting, well written and unique.

The drawing I would say basic not detailed to the point and doesn't lack in detail. Very clean and light drawings.

The characters is the strong point in this series and also with all ... the other Sakura Wars series. The character designer, Kosuke Fujishima, is the god of female designs. He wrote Ah My Goddess and designed the characters for both the Sakura Wars series and some of the Tales of series including Tales of Symphonia. In this series the main heroine is very well designed however all the other heroine's designs really lacked in creativity. I didn't mind this too much though because the development with them is very well written. Although Fujishima is the god of female character designs his male character design are always too plain and in this series it is no exception. Other then the design and the development the characterization of all characters, male or female, is very strong.

Although it is very unique in the plot and setting. I still find this a lot like reading just another herm series.

Overall its not a bad series. Its very likable. I was hooked at some points.

this anime proves that good characters is the start of a good story. the plot it self is very simple martial arts. The main character gets stronger and stronger and stronger as his enemies get stronger and stronger and stronger. its the basic shonen plot. the art is nothing special bright solid colors nothing really eye catchy (but it does not really bother me) the sound is decent. the strength in this anime is the characters. all of them are really fun both the good and bad ones. putting these characters in a simple plot and play with them is wat gives birth to this ... highly enjoyable serice

its surprising to see how many game storise turn in to some really enjoyable animes. i really enjoyed this serice its short not too hard to understand and its deep with some heavy emotions. i recomend it to people that likes pyochlogical serice. it story is enjoyable the art work are pretty good. the opening was horrable but the inserts are ok characters are really well made and developed. after i finished its one that stood in my head but i also think this serice can be a lot better

ill skip the summery since we can all read the above. Anyways 10 out of 10 best manga series ive read. The story has many connections to real life it talked about the christian bible and jesus. It talked about the story of god and his archangels in one part. It made connections with world war 2 in another part. It even has the witch hunt and many others. The art work is very unique its not like a beautiful painting like in series such as ai yori aoshi but are very detailed sketches. Many of the setting are in slums and allyways that is ... very hard to draw in detail and still he did an amazing work. The character are also top notch u have the two main characters Ginji and Ban. Ginji is ur tipical hero very friendly and always happy loves making friends however hes preaty stupid which actually makes him really popular to readers. Ban on the other hand is cool smart and above all cocky and arrogant. From my point of veiw ban is the coolest character ive seen in all the mangas ive read. A true god among man. To all those that saw the anime id say the manga is many times better.

Universal Blue also known as UB is an organization that fights all injustice. Around the world they are the last line of defence anyone who threatens justice. Such a big organization but their existence is only rumors. Rumors also has it that all members have a number and amoung them the single digit numbers are so powerful they have the power to change the corse of the world. The story is about one of these numbers number 9 during one of her mission a boy named Shingo fell in love with her. Even though they are worlds apart dose Shingo have wat it takes to ... go as far as it takes to just see her?
