Story: 1/10
The story in AOT had been pretty mediocre since the beginning. It had begun making sense in Season 3 however with the backstories and all of what had happened in the past looping back in and making sense, but S4 seems just all over the place introducing another country's perspective of sorts which just doesn't seem fitting at this point to do. Not to forget that the world building is as shallow as can be, with the entirety of the world building revolving around only two countries while many a times the characters mention "the world will see your acts" or things like that

bringing in confusion as to "who do they mean by the world?" because they have never actually shown any world beyond this.
Art: 1/10
The art in Season 1, 2 and 3 was pretty good, if not the best I have seen in anime in general. The art in this season is like slideshows. They animated Mikasa like a guy and Armin like a girl. They animated the Survey Corps attacking a titan like flies going around on the screen, without any laws of physics on it, it's like a single pic that was moving around as if in an Adobe FlashPlayer animation. They didn't even animate a whole titan because they didn't want to draw 13 frames.
Sound: 2/10
The overall sound of the anime is really bad, when it comes to the character voicelines. Armin was voiced by a female seiyuu clearly, doesn't match with his past voices. Much of the sound design of the anime overall is not good, I have given an additional point however for the ED which I really love.
Character: 1/10
This has been consistent for me since the beginning, nothing has changed to it even now. The characters are still just as bland and lacking character as they were before, they have made changes to Eren but I don't see how that has happened or what has made it happen. Same with the other characters, they show a change having occurred but I don't see where it comes from.
Enjoyment: 1/10
It's still a struggle for me to watch the anime in its totality. I had dropped the first season way early when it was still airing, but now that I have somehow managed to pull myself up and watch the series in its totality, I thought I will leave a review here on the 4th season. When it comes to enjoyment, the fourth season is going very slow and is not enjoyable. There are obvious pacing issues, the animation is pulling it back majorly, and the sound design being so mediocre also pulls it back. The consistent bantering about "the world" not aligning with what they have shown us till date also brings the enjoyment down considerably because we just cannot relate to who they mean by the world.
Overall: 1/10
Still as bad as I remember.

Agreed, it was disappointing as compared to the previous series, but it wasn't as bad as the reviews claim it was. Not to me at least.
See first things first, the reviews SCARED me. They were the reason I did NOT watch this anime for almost 2 years after I watched the main series (E7). But that's not just it. Perhaps it was because of the humongous time gap that I put between the first part and the sequel. opinion will be somewhat unbiased as compared to those.
First things first, the storyline. The plot was confusing (a bit), and it lacked the oomph of the primary series. But in the end, it kinda started making sense and it... well, wasn't as bad as Guilty Crown. So it was okay. *thumbs up* Though there were just too many factions... America, Japan, the private companies, Corals (I don't even know why they were so keen on destroying them because they were literally harmless), and Secrets (which were involved in a long debate whether they were the enemy or not, but in the start of the anime - it is FREAKING CLEAR that they are the enemy because they shot people and cars right before the protagonist's eyes).
What really annoyed me was the characters... I mean, how bad can you make the characters? There's a limit! I am officially annoyed by how mainstream the characters can be. There is always this one male lead who, despite whatsoever his girlfriend does, will not stop sympathizing for her. Like his girlfriend literally ran away THRICE with another guy, and he was still "ok" with it. How bad can it be? And there were other characters. Characters who keep making mistakes on and on and on. The Pied Pipers - officially the worst team I have ever seen. And for some reason - EVERY GODDAMN GUY KNOWS EUREKA AS THEIR RESPECTIVE SAVIOUR! -_-
But honestly speaking, the most annoying character was still Naru. I never understood her from the start till the end - she was the dumbest female lead that could ever exist... Like she is really worse than Orihime from Bleach!
I personally liked the villain. I don't know about you, but a villain that can annoy me is a good villain.
The good part was when we see Renton in the third last episode. It was like rain after a long and dry summer. You'd give a fangirl squeak - regardless you are a guy or girl. But Renton totally kills it in the last episode... He is a disgrace to a father. He hit his son with a football, he beat the shit out of his robot, etc. etc. and that was totally unlike a mature person. They turned him into a shit character.
Then there is the art. The art was beautiful, no doubts, but it was more about steel, metal, fall coloured broccolis, water, colourful robots, etc. BUT THERE WAS NO TRUE BEAUTY. If you don't get what I mean by true beauty - please, rewatch Eureka Seven. Or just google "Eureka Seven wallpapers" lmfao, you'll get some good examples.
Sound was great! I mean, the music they put in was amazing. I loved the music that played using battle sequences, and the OP and ED - everything was good.
Enjoyment, I'd say I got a bit more than what I was expecting after all those negative reviews. I'd say it was worth my time. Nothing more, nothing less. There was action, there were robots, and there was a story line that progressed steadily.
THE MOST ANNOYING PART OF THE ANIME - THE END
The ending was INCOMPLETE. Like most anime show what happens to the characters after blahblahblah war ends, AO did not show ANYTHING except for the protagonist. Like that's the most disappointing thing that I have ever seen! Like what? What? What? What happened to the Pied Pipers? What happened to Eureka and Renton? What?
Verdict: It is worth a watch. Just brace yourself for the fact that everyone except for the protagonist is an enemy - because that's kind of what happens in a nutshell.

Before I begin, I must tell you that I am not just another anime noob writing this review but nor am I an extremist anime lover who watches anime all day long. This is probably my first (or second) review on MAL and I am not really sure how I will do but I will try because this is definitely one of my all time favorite anime and I am astonished to see how underrated it is.
I first saw this anime back when I was like, 8 or 9 years old, when I used to watch Pokemon everyday at 5pm when it used to air

on the most famous TV Channel in my country. At the time when Pokemon aired at 5pm, this anime had the most ridiculous time slot - 11pm every weekend. It was due to that the anime did not get really popular and was soon pulled back from the TV Channel. But I and my brother used to watch it every weekend and used to look forward to it. It was many years later that I rewatched it, and I still hold firm to my beliefs - this anime is nowhere like Pokemon. I would have said that back when I was 8 or 9, or today even. Pokemon is incomparable to this anime, for this has a far more beautiful plot than Pokemon ever had.
Story

Personally I have never seen a story organised so beautifully as of yet. The way events take place, the way they show flashbacks, the way consequences lead to another story - everything about this anime is put in a very well made form. I do not think highly of action anime. If you see my anime list, you will find out that I have a greater preference for romance anime, and this anime, despite not having the slightest of romance, has been able to maintain its position in my top 5 for nearly 4 years now.
Art
----
The Art of this anime, according to when it was aired, is pretty darn good. Especially the scenes where they have animated the spirits, you really tend to notice the details. Even the city of Ulbacas, which appears much later in anime, has been animated in a very spectacular way. Now of course, you cannot compare that to the art of today (Owari no Seraph, for instance). That'd be disappointing, truly.
Sound

The most attractive thing about the entire anime apart from its plot, is the soundtrack that plays each time something major is happening. Almost all of the soundtracks of this anime are extremely beautiful. Now some of the people love soundtracks like the ones in Tokyo Ghoul or Guilty Crown, but the soundtracks of this anime are not comparable to those, since those have "cool" soundtracks, not "beautiful". Beautiful means ones with instruments like ocarina, pipe organs, etc. which sound entirely classical but have a long lasting effect. For instance, the BGM024 of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, which is an acoustic guitar version of "Recollections" OST of Silver Star Story.
Character

The characters in this anime were everything one might want the characters to be. Except I was quite disappointed by some of the antagonists. I generally look forward to the antagonists in the anime, because they are more often cooler than the protagonist. Think about it - in Naruto, Uchiha Madara was always cooler than all other characters, was he not? But in this anime, that wasn't so. At first, all of the antagonists seem to be real cool, but by the end, they all lose their minds and start doing random stuff. It is that which is somewhat disappointing.
Keeping that aside, the Character Development of this anime has to be appreciated. You don't see such good character development very often. I will not say anything, because saying anything about the character development will sort of be a spoiler, but I will mention that the characters are really spectacular. The main characters of the anime, except for Roia and the little crybaby, you can very well say that all the main characters of the anime are good enough.
Enjoyment
------------
In terms of enjoyment, I have given it a 9, probably because at some points, the anime becomes a stretch. It kind of makes you say, "Okay that's enough anime for today", which is not good. There exist anime which make you jump episode to episode and make you say, "Just one more!". That also takes out a point from the enjoyment sector.
Overall

I couldn't not give it 10. I have been following this anime for a long time now. A really long time, and I doubt I can actually say that it deserves any less than what I have given it. I watched the English dubbed and English subbed versions, but it was strange that I liked the dubbed version better. It barely ever happens.
The anime cannot be compared to Pokemon. It is insulting, probably because Pokemon was always far too kiddish. This is far, far better. It doesn't have a protagonist who dreams of becoming "THE SPIRIT MASTER!" or anything of the sort. He just got dragged into the whole thing, that's all.
