I started reading Stardust Wink out of sheer desire for a distraction - this manga did the job, and kept me unceasingly entertained through the stunning art, dramatic storyline, and humor sprinkled timelessly throughout the chapters. Although I’m usually not a sucker for romance and love triangles, the lead characters were too gorgeous to resist, and although cliché, the storyline had a way of making your heart beat faster and rooting for the main character, Anna.

Characters: 7/10
(+) Characters are each very unique. Sou, Anna’s childhood friend is very popular with girls but is secretly a Pokémon geek. Hinata, Anna’s other childhood friend that she develops a liking for, has a fetish for animals and is brilliant with art. Finally, Anna is our more stereotypical shoujo heroine; innocent, clueless, but lovable.
(-) Anna’s ineptitude at reading the situation was at times infuriating, and she is constantly indecisive on her feelings (which is inevitable considering the entire plot revolves around a love triangle. Still, it makes the reader grow wary after 42 chapters of, “What is this feeling in my chest? Does he /really/ like me?”
Art: 9/10
(+) The characters are GORGEOUS, although,
(-) Not particularly “unique”. Resembles typical shoujo art, but fits (+) perfectly with the story.
Overall: 7/10
A year from now, I probably wouldn’t be able to recall the names and plot of Stardust Wink. Although not particularly memorable, the manga is very adorable and illustrates a charming view of young love, first dates, and entering a new high school that’ll definitely capture your heart. Overall, Stardust Wink will keep you entertained and is a good way to pass the time and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a light read.
SIDE NOTE: they stopped posting updates November 2013 so we’ve been stuck at a cliffhanger for quite some time :/

Rarely are you fortunate enough to find an anime that truly brings you into their world and keeps you on edge throughout a 200+ episode series; Katekyo Hitman Reborn seemed to do the trick for me.
The story revolves around a loser of a middle schooler, Tsuna, who is bad at everything and has little friends. forms precious bonds with new friends that eventually end up playing a huge part in his mafia. There are many arcs throughout the series, and as the series progresses, Tsuna and his friends battle stronger and stronger enemies that become allies later on. KHR contains many mysteries that end up unraveling in a way you would never expect; this includes the reason Tsuna’s home tutor is a baby, what happened to the first Vongola mafia boss, and much more to fill your heart’s content.
The storyline was well thought out, with a very unique plot that sets it apart from your average action anime. I was kept guessing the whole time, and found myself thinking about the show first thing when I woke up. The action scenes were amazing as well; the characters always pull out new tricks that you would never expect. In addition, Katekyo Hitman Reborn portrays a fascinating cast of characters that are both original as well as lovable and really start to grow on you as the series progresses. I found myself crying in certain parts seeing how much the characters have grown, which is a rare occurrence for me. Each person has their own little perks that make you love them more. Comedy also plays a huge part in the anime, and there are some hilarious filler episodes that really calm me down after a high tension fight scene. The comedic scenes are really what make KHR such a memorable anime in the end, which is also what makes the fillers much more enjoyable than the ones in Bleach and Naruto.
It was hard to find critiques for the show, as KHR is one of my all-time favorites. I did find the show to lack some seriousness, as deceased characters always come back to life, box animals in arc 3 seem very childish etc. This would probably help the show target a wider range of audiences if improved, typically those 16 and older. The first 20 episodes also lack plot, but keep persevering as the show has some pleasant surprises in store later in the story. All in all, KHR is definitely an anime you should try out if you’re into a good action/supernatural/comedy/shounen!

Action, comedy, suspense, drama, romance… Angel Beats has it all. The story revolves around high schoolers in the afterlife, attempting to rebel against God; each individual has had their share of painful memories of their past life, and they struggle to overcome this and refuse to accept their own fate. Because of this, they cannot “move on” and rest in peace, although they consider disappearing into heaven the same as being obliterated. To survive in the afterworld, they resolve to fight "Angel" in an attempt to lure God out.

finished the entire series in just a few hours! Angel Beats has amazing graphics, and the music is always fitting to match the mood of the moment. The characters were also well thought out; I was able to grow attached to them in just the course of 13 episodes. I know there are people that find the characters fruitless, but they were really lovable and added comedy to the otherwise solemn show. If you’re into tear jerkers, then this is the anime for you. On the other hand, if you prefer shows to be less serious, then Angel Beats may not be your cup of tea. Although the series does have its hilarious parts, the overall mood left a depressing, kind of bittersweet feel throughout. On to some critiques for the show…
I was quite disappointed on the character development throughout the series. It seemed to me that the producers should’ve stretched out the anime because the characters progressed too rapidly; for example, in one episode, two characters would be fighting and then the next, they plan to marry each other. I probably would have enjoyed the show enough to give it a 10 if they decided to focus on character development. If character growth is crucial for you to enjoy a show (I am a bit like this), then you would probably give Angel Beats a 7-8 rating. Please note that this is still higher than an average show.

Poyopoyo is definetly the cutest show you'll ever watch! The art is adorable, and the characters are lovable as well. Although some previous reviewers have mentioned the anime to be directed to cat-owners, I beg to differ. Poyopoyo could be enjoyed by all comedy-lovers, whether they are 8 or 18. Each episode is only 3 minutes long, but they keep you entertained to the end. The show is refreshing and I would really recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new!

fierce looking but kind hearted father and a hilarious younger brother who seems to have quarrels with Poyo often. From there, stories on Poyo and his life with his new family is shown throughout the episodes. I found myself grinning the whole time by how kawaii Poyo is.
My overall ratings:
Story- 8/10; no defined plot, but I still loved it!
Art- 10/10; seriously what attracted me to the show, the art is surely different but cute!
Sound- 10/10; I never get tired of the theme song
Character- 10/10; all the characters, especially Poyo are unique and lovable!
Enjoyment- 9/10
Overall 9/10

My personal opinion:
Tbh, I didn't find this show too enjoyable up to now (I'm mostly for the shounen genre though, and there was a bit too much ecchi in the beggining than I would prefer). The plot is rather unique and shows promise (as I'll explain in the following paragraph), although it developed a bit too fast for my liking. The art is pretty mainstream but it's also what attracted me to the show. The characters are kind of annoying, so I'm hoping they develop more throughout the anime.
Brief Summary of the show:
Kokoro Connect is a story about 5 high schoolers that trade bodies

for a fixed amount of time before switching back. They cannot control this, and not much is known about how this happens, and why. During this time period, each individual learns more about the person their soul is in, bringing the characters closer together throughout the show. It's a decent slice of life/romance/drama anime, so if you're interested in those genres, go for it.

Art- 10/10
Sound- 8/10
Characters- 6/10
Enjoyment- 4/10 (again, I don't usually go for this genre, if you like slice of life/shoujo/drama/romance you'd probably give this a 8)
