Let's just say that when I watched Blade Runner right after watching GITS Innocence (being quite a fan of Ridley's immortal masterpiece and admiring its style and sfx which were a herculean achievement for its age) - the style, music, color palette and pacing of Oshii's movie simply make the prior seem almost like a color-uncoordinated arrhythmia-paced flick (though I admit that having the same amount of control over post-production as allotted by modern technology would probably even the odds for Mr. Ridley, but as things stand Mr. Oshii is ahead by a head).

The storyline by itself is nothing to write home about: after all ...

The seemingly standard keyesque air of the name/artwork/synopses didn't allow for much, it seemed, when deciding what to watch to kill some time last week. This show, I thought, would be an entertaining prospect to see how the Japanese anime industry can squeeze another clone of a clone of a dating-sim clone and also once again fail in making a decent show based on an a-priori infinitely awesome girls-with-guns concept.

The first episodes didn't really do much to dispel my worries, I was however rather drawn in by a great balance of fluency and detail (vs the ever impending doom of the budget cap of any ...
