Great Steins Gate review, i see you got a lot of hate by the fanboys (ok that was july 2012- im a bit late:P) I absolutly agree with ur review but i dislike steins gate for some other reasons as well :)
I'm not going to list the endless reasons why your review was bad, but rather I'm just going to flat out say your taste is awful. Dropped Baccano and gave Steins;Gate a haphazardly written bad review? Painful.
I'll disagree with Mopquill by saying that all the "hate" is warranted because your review was pretty bad, touching on very specific parts of the anime and not others. It was more of a "Hey, I'm giving Steins a low score, look at me, I'm so edgy! Check it out!"

I was a dumbass a lot. I think it took something like Nana (I forget if it was this specifically, who knows) to finally convince me to just start dropping stuff right and left. Like nothing I am doing is "trolling", I just hate so many cliche "tropes" and how purposely forced everything is. I think the only review I ever made that was a real troll was High School of the Dead, where I made a 500 word hate review based off just the trailer. Got about 180 votes, 50 helpful, it was a good time.
Noir had a very typical type of anime music that I just very much dislike...kind of struggling to think of what to describe it, just a really bad attempt at being sprawling and hyperactive without actually being either. I also find that music interferes with most works unless it has a specific point, and especially should be more like a motif thing usually. Unfortunately anime usually just spams it in an attempt to fill every second with noise, something that really bothers me...maybe Noir did that? I cannot remember, it has been too long. I listened to a minute of one of the songs real quick to try to remember, but it was just not clicking.
Also actually I have to say, I am pretty pissed at your review. You write ONE review and get death threats? I have laid into series after series and the worst I got was people banding together on IRC to ruin my actually positively received reviews. Some of us paid our dues man, where are my death threats?
Now see you might be missing the point here dude. The "waifus" in Stein's Gate are shitty as hell. Bad character traits, cliche designs, BADLY written dialogue. This is on purpose and what every anime fan craves because people are lobotomized losers. Hope this helps!

Maybe you are missing the point here - when you review an anime you review it as a whole, not partially. Your review is a partial review and is thus redundant. If you personally do not like the characters that's fine - but what of the plot? You said nothing of the plot? The art? The sound?
You say you only review that you consider important (essentially) but that does not help the masses, that helps your niche 20%, or less. Try to be more helpful if you wish to review.

Mopquill, you seem to be overlooking the simple fact that this isn't really about how much he enjoyed it - it's about his review. Giving a brief summary of characters, not even grazing the story or art, or sound. The fact he gave it a 3 was based just on characters... according to said review. If I'm reading reviews and I see a 3, but no real reason to warrant a 3, am I going to find the review helpful? I don't care what he rates any anime; you're entirely correct - no anime has a base value and is down to your own perception, but when bashing something you need to be thorough in bashing it. Any review needs to be thorough, else it's obsolete.

No, the anime itself does not deserve a 10. It doesn't deserve anything. Your opinion of it is that it does, but that is the difference. It has no absolute value. Nothing judged by the viewer can be factually good or bad; its only in the eye of the beholder -- as goes the saying. This is what you're not seeming to grasp. You might think it's the best thing in the word, and vegard might think it's the worst. *Neither* of you is wrong. You have differing opinions. However, you ARE wrong for harassing him on his profile, and for opining that the review be removed.
Stop using the word "false." You don't seem to know what it means. An opinion is subjective, and thus, cannot be false. I'm afraid it's as simple as that. Further, it should not be removed from MAL just because you disagree with it, and I hope it never is.

Looks like your long winded yet still wrong. In no way is saying "remember we live in a world where you aren't allowed to have an opinion and the popular opinion is always right! " defending that false trolly review. Further more I did rate SG a 10 because it deserves it. I rate anime I have dropped better than 3. It's any ones guess why something he disliked so much he would see to the end. Just because an anime did not suit my personal tastes does not make it bad necessarily.Credit where credit is due. Also note that many, many, people have rated SG, and the average rating is 8 or above. And this is not a main stream shounen anime by any means, so that is rather significant that it was so well received by so many. The review written is well worded, I will give it that. However it is still utterly and hopelessly wrong. I hope it is removed from MAL sooner than later. As it should be.
