Hello, how are you? hope everything is good ^_^
Just finished watching Baccano!
For the first time I see an anime they're all considered as main characters and no supporting, really nice like this point :)
How the story is presented is indeed unique, the jumping between times were really confusing but once you get to understand the plot it's easy to understand how the story is going.
also liked how individual stories come together and ended up in the train to create this epic story
really nice variety of characters presented, they were about 20 characters, and Of course one of the most funny couples are presented in this anime, talking about Miria and Isaac, just watching them make me laughs even if they are not talking XD
the opening remained me of Durarara!! opening 2, will they are done by the same author :)
It has Probably the best story in anime. It is a Psychological Murder Mystery. It has probably the best antagonist in anime in Johan Liebert. Excellently Built and Perfectly paced. Realistic animation too.
This is the Synopsis on MAL. It is Brilliantly Written. This serves as a Plot Summary.
Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a renowned young brain surgeon of Japanese descent working in Europe. Highly lauded by his peers as one of the great young minds that will revolutionize the field, he is blessed with a beautiful fiancé and is on the cusp of a high promotion in the hospital he works at. However, all of that is about to change with one critical decision that Dr. Tenma faces one night—whether to save the life of a young child or that of the town's mayor. Despite being pressured by his superiors to perform surgery on the mayor, his morals force him to perform the surgery on the young child, saving his life and forfeiting the mayor's. All of a sudden, Dr. Tenma's world is turned upside down by his decision leading to the loss of everything he previously had. A doctor is taught to believe that all life is equal; however, when a series of murders occur in the vicinity of Dr. Tenma, all of the evidence pointing to the young child who he saved, Tenma's beliefs are shaken.
Naoki Urasawa's Monster is a tale full of mystery, suspense and intrigue as Dr. Tenma journeys to find out the true identity of the young child. In turn, the fate of the world may depend on it.
NOW THEN:-
Even disregarding the intriguing main storyline, the subplots and side stories were all masterfully done. Character development is superb, and the use of the side stories to flesh out main characters is definitely the best I've seen. None of it felt extraneous at all. They develop every character perfectly. You get to know about every character in great detail. I absolutely love how Monster just slows down and shows us the daily lives of the characters, and spends time away from the main plot to breathe life and depth to the themes and characters.
Monster is truly a masterpiece of the highest order. As far as actual storytelling goes there are few if not none that can surpass Monster.
So now to answer your question, YES it is definitely one of THE best Psychological Thrillers in anime. There's a reason as to why it's so widely acclaimed.
Monster has such high quality. Whether you personally like it or not, it is guaranteed that you will recognize immediately why others consider this objectively one of the best anime.
Personally it is my #1 anime.
Monster in my opinion is the symbol of Quality and Perfection.
Ah! It's a Masterpiece of the very highest order!!!!!!!
KEY WORD IS QUALITY.
Also it has an OUTSTANDING cast of characters. Watch out of Johan, Tenma, Grimmer, Ana, Lunge and Eva. They're the standout Characters.
Nothing is shown without Meaning.....Perfection.
I'm Re-watching it now AND it's so damn amazing that it's making me laugh.
Well what I recommend you now to watch is to continue watching HxH so that you can catch up as you said.( btw from the 1 episode till episode 75 is just a remaking of 1998 version of HxH ), so if you watched the old version don't bother watching it, there is nothing new unless you want to refresh your memory.
Then I recommend you to watch Monster with it's realistic story that MIGHT happen in real life. lol, finally comes Durarara!! with it's unique story also.
One last thing is that you can switch between Monster and Durarara!!, That's up to you what you want to watch after HxH but I mostly recommend Monster.
