watched it when it was airing but am only now writing a review lol
right on the first episodes i was blown away. the animation, the story, the plot twists????and it kept getting better and better. every week i was looking forward to the next episode. i definitely feel in love with the characters and felt as though i knew where the story was going, but i wasn't angry or disappointed by that, i was actually excited to think i knew how the end was gonna be, but i was so wrong. by the end of episode 7 and beginning of episode 8 i was just
...
shocked and not in the good way. the story took a really unexpected turn, which usually i would love but with anime specifically
i don't think it was the ideal choice. i personally didn't really love the story from episode 8 onwards but i did watch all the way to the end.
like i said the story didn't wow me but the characters are well written and they themselves are pretty interesting. the futuristic vibe was also something i enjoyed, reminded me of watching back to the future when i was a little kid, the story is set in a pretty interesting world. though i did not enjoy the ending the anime in general isn't all that bad, the main plot, the animation, the characters and mini plot twists made it enjoyable but i do recommend watching it with a friend, it makes the whole experience much more fun

so i walked into the bookstore and asked for a seinen recommendation, this was what the store clerk handed me and after reading the first volume i just couldn't stop.
jagasaki is a really relatable character, facing the troubles of the world and learning to get by and live his life, but that doesn't mean it's a fulfilling one. the constant dreams of changing his life around, quitting his job, living an extraordinary life instead of a common one if a really relatable sentiment. as the plot thickens and the world around him changes drastically we get to see him evolve as a person and learn
...
to make compromises to be able to reach his goal.
the art is impeccable, which is to be expected of such a well produced seinen. the art really goes well with the story and is pretty clean but messy when it wants to be. the manga does have some gore and nudity that is pretty detailed so if you can't handle these things i don't recommend it, howeverrr if you can handle such things i really recommend it!! the characters are really well written and lovable even in tense situations or fight scenes. it's truly a 10/10 and a really enjoyable reading experience

this one is hard to to talk about.
this anime made me think a lot, about the past the present, but mostly how the present would be different if the past could be changed. it made me realize that i should go with my gut and do what i feel is right. if you do watch it, pay attention to the details, they make the whole story come together in the end.
i recommend it if you wanna sit and think about life and start to try and make the best of the present, we can't go back in time so we should start living like
...
we never even hoped that was an option

“A faint clap of thunder
Clouded skies,
Perhaps rain comes,
If so,will you stay here with me?”
makoto shinkai has always been one of my favorite anime directors. i've watched all of his work released up to now but i must say that kotonoha no niwa wil always and forever hold a special place in my heart. the story is heart breaking and the characters are truly relatable but the biggest factor of all for it's special place in my heart is the music.
the story is a touching one, about how the world is divided by two in the eyes of takao, the protagonist. in his mind the world
...
is on one side the world of the adults, a world of work dedication, a world where people do what they are meant to do. and on the other its the side of those who are still being prepared to enter the world of the adults. however the story focuses on the problems of said worlds. work problems and young love. the characters connection to one another and how they relate and survive in the world around them. but what ties it together for me is the music.
when i say music i am talking about the soundtrack, the piano soundtrack that plays all through out the movie. when i first saw this movie i felt as though the music was touching my soul, it was a really scary but at the same time somewhat nostalgic experience???i to the day can't describe it properly lol but i can say that it really moved me. the emotions of the characters, the feeling of falling rain, the longing and loneliness, you can truly feel it all whenever you listen to this movie's soundtrack and that is just absolutely amazing.
it's one of those movies that will stay with you forever. whenever rain falls you'll remember it and probably will put it on to feel all of that all over again. i take this movie with me in my mind wherever i go, keeping in mind what it taught me. relationships are complicated and even if they don't end like we always want them to, they will always teach us something. it taught me to wait. wait for a response, for a signal. it can take time to express how you truly feel about other people and it can take time to process how others feel about you. but that shouldn't be rushed. one should take said time and relish it, and use it to understand themselves better. the end of this movie in particular is one im really fond of! it kind of reminds me of another of shinkai's work, 5cm/s which if you haven't seen and enjoyed kotonoha no niwa you should definitely watch! this movie changed me as a person and is one that i will always and forever remember.

went into this manga not really hoping for much. i had seen the anime and had liked the characters but wasn't really impressed. at some points i found it rather boring but i wanted to see where the story was going, also i had seen some art panels from the manga on reddit that really impressed me.
the art is incredible, i'll start there. the commitment and dedication to the aesthetic of the manga and its clean art is visible and i really enjoyed that. however lately the story has been quite slow and unfortunately boring. the main plot is told over several story arcs in
...
such a manner that by the end of each arc a bit more of the main plot is revealed. taking that in consideration plot twists are to be expected, and even welcomed by the reader but i found such plot twists to be stretched/cliche and at some times predictable in the sense that i had a pretty clear idea of what the plot twist would be and when it would happen.
what saves it all for me personally are the characters. they are just so lovable! and even if they aren't all that much relatable they are so well written and their stories are so captivating that it doesn't even matter all that much that i can't relate to a demon butler or a sniper maid all that matters is the characters themselves and how they interact not only with each other but also with world around them as the story goes on

darwins game for me is fun mix between high rise invasion and alice in borderland. in my opinion it's also good for beginners that are still looking for their preferred tastes.
it's got mystery, thriller, some humor and pretty good animations too. the story was quite good and so was the viewing experience. the main character is quite generic, especially in the beginning of the story but he isn't unbearable, he's mostly a blank slate though that coin has two sides. since he is quite the blank slate it makes it easier to understand him in the complex world he's in and it could open an
...
opportunity for the anime's second season if it does get a second season to focus more on him and his personality/goals. at the same time when characters are generic it makes it quite easy to predict what actions they're going to take as the story progresses.
nonetheless the story is quite good and if you enjoyed either high rise invasion or alice in borderland you should definitely watch darwins game

a true masterpiece. beautifully touching story that i made my heart break. if you watch it you will not be disappointed.
my first contact with hnk was when a friend recommended it to me. initially i didnt expect much going into it, but nowadays its one of, if not my favorite anime ever.
the protagonist phosphophyllite's story is one that even outside the context of the anime many of us can relate to and have experienced. they have the wish to be useful to others, to be strong, to be able to care after the ones we care about, but feel like they are unable
...
to do so because of how (literally) fragile they are.
the anime is clear in establishing her solitude, not only related to her surroundings (being one of the last 28 gems that inhabit said ecosystem) but also to the ones around her, from the very beginning its clear that phos feels as though they are an inconvenience to others but they want to change that. their journey is one filled with hope, longing and sadly not only uncertainty but regret as well. the character is one we can truly relate to and by the last episodes i found myself desperately hoping for something, anything to change the story that was unfolding before me.
if you do watch it i recommend you read the manga as well, though it is on hiatus at the moment the story is addicting and it gets even better :)

when i first watched it i was hoping for something a little bit more different but i wasnt too let down, there were some differences, subtle but they were there. one thing that really made me glad was that the changes didnt really interfere with the original death note plot, they were more of a side scheme. the changes added a nice touch, giving the story even more depth in my opinion.
i recommend watching it if you truly enjoy the franchise and the characters (if you love conspiracy theories than i also recommend watching this one!). its a good and quick way to recap the
...
whole series and the changes are sutble enough so that if you are watching the rewrite first (though i dont recommend it) you get the whole story.
