Despite having good reviews, Sword of the Stranger was a letdown. I went into it with the expectation that it was a hidden gem, but in reality this movie is just very shallow and bland. The main duo is likable enough, but with no real chemistry with the main villains, I can't really find a strong reason to root for these characters. Nothing interesting was done with the characters or plot and nearly every scene in this movie felt like a half assed way to get to the next fight.
