I will try to give a quick review as for someone who is checking if the movie is worth it, what to expect, spoiler free.
The story is a direct sequel to the original Ghost in the Shell movie, although this time it's more centered around Batou, I guess you could say it's a stand alone case or mission involving... yes you guessed it, cyborgs. I recommend of course watching the prequel first, if you already did you know it deals with some philosophical ideas, but this movie takes it way further, it explores some subjects with much more attention and screen time, I guess if

you're familiar or intrigued by philosophy this will be great, otherwise you can still enjoy it, has great action and plot.
The art is amazing, couldn't give it less than 10. It's beautiful overall, there are epic scenes that simply capture you, it's so delightful to watch, I don't think I have said that before. The inclusion of CGI looks awesome and the transitions between 2D and 3D are smooth, unlike the 2.0 version of the prequel.
The soundtrack is great, there are scenes that along with the art create an involving experience. For every other scene I'm sure it serves it's purpose just right. The acting voices are pretty good, nothing super memorable but the story is.
As I stated earlier, we take a closer look into Batou and Togusa both are great characters, they make a great team, Batou being more fearless and ready to shoot, Togusa the more intuitive cop. There are some surprises but sure the characters are satisfying and meet the expectations from the prequel.
I enjoyed the movie a whole lot, probably because I love this kind of sci-fi, it reminded me of a couple of Ergo Proxy episodes, it develops slowly but it is a treat

Samurai Champloo is an anime that I came across very skeptical since the person who recommended it to me didn't know how to put in words what this series is, and I can't blame him for that actually. Samurai Champloo is a very original concept of samurai shonen that mixes elements of hip-hop culture (is that a culture really?).
Story 8/10 The story is about 2 swordsmen, one a true samurai master, the other an unorthodox genius, after getting in a short fight, they end up having a debt with a young girl who convince them to join her in a journey for which they

Art 10/10 awesome design of the characters and sceneries, great fight sequences, great color choice, no complains.
Sound 9/10 as in Cowboy Bebop, music plays a great role, this ost is a bit more exotic , I just wasn't amuse by it 100% of the time, still it was great and great variety. RIP Nujabes
Character 8/10 this isn't the kind of series you'll get a full insight of your protagonists, there's development, still it takes some time to empathize with the characters.
Enjoyment 8/10 as it has an episodic format, you'll find some randomness if you watch a marathon, in terms of continuity. Anachronism everybody mentions basically refers to the fact they modify some historical events for them to fit in our protagonist story and time, as there will be events from Japanese Edo age, there'll be as well reference to hip-hop urban culture at the same time.
Overall I give this a 9, I would recommend if you're searching for something fresh, different, some real action and samurai violence as well to be open for jokes, plot twists and ambiguous stories, also Cowboy Bebop fans.

Even if your not that into mecha you probably heard of this series, well you should, everyone needs to watch it even for culture purposes lol ok no.
This is not an anime about heroes, it's not about typical characters nor a predictable ending. It's a suspense story where thin mechas and giant aliens come into play, along with a government sponsored organization that is doing some experiments that are all tied to one big dark project that may change the course of life as we know it. his dad but maybe it's more psychological intricate than that.
The story is great, but the pacing is very uneven and unnecessarily complex at times, the art is amazing, specially in the 'monsters' and mecha designs. The sound does it for the psychological parts as well for the battles and tension scenes. Characters are again complex, having all of them different reasons or motivation to play a role in NERV and a different perception of the occurrences in the time of the story.
If you come here to watch an action mecha you'll be disappointed, instead you'll find a series where mechas are important but not the main element of it. This series takes religious and scientific matters to a point where we can't be sure if they are being too serious about it to start off. It has very awesome ups, and some really sad downs, but all of it serves for a different experience brought to you by Gainax. By the way, some subjects are based from Top Wo Neare: Gunbusters. this is a series you'll love or hate, but always give it a proper try.

As you may probably know, they went out of budget on the very last NGE episodes, and fans weren't happy with the TV ending, which left a lot of loose endings, and changed the mecha action into psychological inner talk or something like that. So they decided like one or two years after to give Evangelion a proper ending. Some of the scenes in this movie fit into the horror category and I would say 'for mature audiences only'.
In this move you'll find Evangelion with a bigger dose of violence, gore, ethereal matters, suspense, and is the ending of a... anime classic, it's an intense

experience.
The art is fantastic for it's time, great detail in the key scenes, the sound is the part that captivated me the most, the music, oh my... the music is excelent, genius Shigeru, also some classical works that make for a beautiful audiovisual experience. The character part in this movie has a lot of twists. Overall great movie, I like to re-watch it at times.

Hajime No Ippo, wow, great anime, Ippo is a shy boy who struggles with bullies at school which pretty much make their punchbag of him. In one of this experiences he meets Takamura, a young professional boxer who doesn't have time for boys who won't even defend themselves. As the weeks pass Ippo will show interest in joining Kamogawa's boxing gym, with a born-talent and determination that look very promising for the main coach.
The story is about Makunouchi Ippo and his way to become stronger, both physical and mentally, you can't get more bad-ass than that honestly. The art serves its purpose right, but

not the main attraction actually.
The soundtrack is awesome! I have all of it, mostly based on electric guitar riffs and some electronic beats, the music builds the right tension and drama whenever it's needed. The voices where chosen right too.
In this installment we focus on Ippo, but we still get to know some of the backgrounds from his mates, all of them have the discipline and 'fighting spirit' for the occasion. I really enjoyed watching every single episode, they felt so short in length overall, some of the encounters may last from 2 to 3 episodes, still they are very intense and we even have some emotional scenes. I give Hajime no Ippo a 10 because it manages to mix very well shonen elements with actual boxing subjects without ridiculize them, but even if you're not into sports of this kind, the story and determination live for themselves.

The famous Melancholy of Haruhi Suzummiya. I didn't know it is based on a novel when I started watching, but as the story progress you get the feeling as you where reading a book, well this is mostly because our character Kyon narrates through the whole series, and most (if not everything) of what he narrates is basically "His days living around Haruhi Suzumiya"'. That's the feel it gives you, we get to know the story of Haruhi but not as viewers of the story itself, but the story through the eyes of his friend and classmate "Kyon".
In the original airing of the show the

order of episodes was "random", that's why when it comes to the episodes list, you'll probably find threads such as "Chronological Order - Broadcast Order" and even 2009 Re-airing order as well as DVD. Now for this randomness, it maintains certain coherence, as most of the show is mostly episodic, even for the two-episodes mini-story. However if you watch 2006 Broadcast order you'll miss some references here and there, but nothing that spoils the development, and serves for a different experience. Even with that said, I would not recommend start with Adventures of Asahina Mikuru, it doesn't make any sense as episode 1 and made me drop the series once.
The story revolves around Haruhi and company in high school where they start a little club with mysterious purposes, not going to spoil anything. The animation is bright and cute, there are some CGI scenes, at least they looked like that to me, the backgrounds specially the streets in the sunset are beautiful. I have no complains for the soundtrack, Aya Hirano did a great job as voice actress, as well as the rest of the cast. The characters are really special for me, the most the supporting ones, each one comes from a different background that at the same time unites them in that time and space as if it was their destiny, but maybe not...
This series is not to be taken so seriously being honest, I'm not saying this is bad, I gave it a 9/10, it's great entertainment, you can love it or hate, and is surely a show that still years after maintains its fanbase and will hear about it for years to come.

This has to be one of the first series that actually made me crack myself laughing. The show has a lot of dark humor in it, if it's your thing give it a try, doesn't matter if you even don't like death metal.
I think the site synopsis isn't very clear so I'll give it a shot. The story focuses on Souichi Negishi, a professional guitar player who after graduating from college I guess decides he wants to work on music, and his songs are all romantic pop, quite mellow innocent love music so he has this dream of having a bands like his heros from
...
France or Sweden, can't remember... Yeah, it never happens, instead he joins a death metal band as frontman singer/songwriter, why? He needed the money I guess, so he starts this project which has just signed a record deal named Detroit Metal City (DMC).
The story is quite simple, you could say episodic, Negishi lives this crazy rockstar life but he isn't very proud of it, also he hides his identity from fans and friends so at times it makes him lose it, we see a lot from his disgrace also trying to impress a girl who basically hates metal bands. The art/animation is very good, very decent.
The sound is one of the highlights, the music and the voices play an important role in DMC. The characters are nothing special, also there's no development but actually the story doesn't need it. As I wrote earlier, this show will make you crack laughing take my word. Overall, it's very good, short length, the only thing I need to warn is there are some adult subjects.

This new or "bonus" episode is an addition to the series -as far as I know- only included in the DVDs, as 'Round 76: The fists of the boxer'.
Through-out the series, we get to see the background of almost every secondary boxer character, such as Kimura, Aoki, Miyata, Sendo, Volg and Date, but we don't really get to see how it was that Takamura enrolled into boxing. Well, that's what we get in this Special Episode, Kamogawa instructor notices his potential and decides to give him the Kamogawa treatment in his gym and the road, which despite Takamura’s doubts, get him his first results (All

in a very funny way).
The animation looks more modern and brighter, just as in New Challenger. So what are you waiting? Just watch it :)

This is my first MAL review. I knew from Gunbuster from a friend after I became fan of Gurren-Lagann and Evangelion, and in fact, Gunbuster touches various subjects later referrenced in both as well; for example that "Do the impossible" state of mind, intergalactic battles, our negative importance as humans in the universe/earth, teenage mecha pilots, and I could go on and on.
Simply if you love one or both of those animes, you should try this one, you can watch it in about 3 hours, and the depth of the story isn't affected much by its short lenght.

a mustwatch, if you're a Gainax fan you NEED to watch this, and for any anime fan, this show has enough action, emotional subjects and interesting story for many tastes, so if you're thinking about watching this, don't doubt no more
