an anime can't get any more similar than this. is what I thought when I watched the first episode of hanayome. adding past events as a part of a harem story can't get any spicier than nisekoi and hanayome. in the end we'll (hopefully) get an answer to whom the MC ended up with, and who is the girl of his past.

an anime can't get any more similar than this. is what I thought when I first watched hanayome. TLDR; the story progresses around MC teaching his harem in high school setting. if you're looking for a harem which only focuses on characters relationship, these are your way to go. other side characters barely exist. the characters though, is a whole different story. MC in benkyou ga dekinai is a kind guy. truly at heart. while MC in hanayome at first is a jerk who only cares about making lives out of the girls wealth. and through out the story, he eventually evolves with a lot of background story attached. the girls, surely in hanayome were all blood related adding more seasoning to the story with all that sisterhood-romance entanglement.

The similarities between both main characters is too much. If you liked the main character, you can try the oyher anime. Both main characters is OP in some way, and somewhat lack the brain to do the thinking therefore they only do muscle works while their partners do the thinking. The physical appearance is also similar. Black long hair shorty with lack of facial expression.

a lot of people might not find much or even any similarities in the two anime. but for me, the anime that pops out first in my mind is either kill la kill or SSSS.Gridman. of course, gridman and kill la kill directed by amemiya sensei is the thing. but gridman eventually shows itself to include a villain with twisted personality which psychologically has the same feeling with Symphogear. The style and manual drawing which is harder to find these days especially in the fighting part also resemble each other.

among some anime which popped out in my mind when i started watching symphogear is kill la kill. which unfortunately when I checked the recommended title part of symphogear, didn't find any. in general, both anime tells a story of a girl protagonist having to fight. what makes kill la kill and symphogear different from other anime (and what makes them similar) is of course, their art style and animation which doesn't use CGI. they also chose somewhat weird costume for their protagonists. secondly, both anime includes weird ironical comedy in their character and story.

Although saying the anime to be similar is an understatement to how good Durarara is, I cannot turn a blind eye at how both anime has the same style of art and direction. Both anime insert a critique towards our society into shounen themed action-drama genre with comedy. We can also say Enen no Shouboutai is a cheap imitation to Durarara.

i really like katou megumi of saekano and it will be my main reason for recommending hensuki and saekano where the character of their heroines especially mizuha (the sister of hensuki) and katou megumi (main heroine of saekano) felt the same. both heroine has same way of expressing things with the same flat voice line. although you could feel their love clearly, they express it in a somewhat awkward way. that being said, both anime also set in a school life background with many similarities in their heroines concept (a big busted senpai, a flat chested kohai, a classmate/someone of the same age, a sibling). all of which resembles different "-dere/fetish".

although both anime has similarity as a harem romance comedy involving sister romance, both anime has a different character set for both the male protagonist and the sister. if oreimo has a tsundere princess pride of a sister with a somewhat servant pride of a brother, hensuki provides the viewer with a sister that shows her loves towards his brother in a blunt way. if you are a sister complex or sister romance addict, definitely give it a go.

both mangas tell a shonen comedy story revolves around daily life. how hard it is to understand your true feelings. a lot of romance comedy act with a bunch of daily jokes. although not as much romance can be seen in d-frag since the male protag is just mr. nice guy with no interest towards female it seems, the romance comedy of female(s) trying to win his heart is definitely there. not much seriousness can be found from either manga, but kawai-sou has more clear plot towards how the story is gonna end.
